Well the time has come again...
In two weeks I am starting my master cleanse again. I do this every fall and spring as a way to flush the system and get a little healthier (because my summers and winters are non-stop mashfests). This combined with my yoga and weight training and I am going to be in fine shape in a couple of months (I never really stop the yoga).
Anyone have any experience with this, positive or negative? I have been doing it for years now and it really is a good thing to do. Not fun and a real pain in the a55 (pun intended).
My personal best is a 10 day fast/cleanse. This season I am hoping to up it to 14 days at least. I gotta start after my birthday though because, why cleanse and ruin it immediately by going on a bender.
Some of you may know this as "The Lemonade Diet" but that name is misleading. For those of you unaware of the Master Cleanser program here it is: http://www.mastercleanser.com/master-cleanser-1.htm

Yeah after James Brown had a heart attack he said that he swore by one colonic a year. I mean theres no way to get around the fact that all the red meat and other **** you eat builds after awhile.
Although I dont plan on one anytime soon I know that there are going to be some in my distant future.

yeah I decided to put myself through detox to get THC out of my system for the first time in years, and also to show myself that I am not entirely dependent on it and could go without it if I so choose.
What I've learned, and am learning because I'm still clean right now is that I do not need it to get by, but really it is my favorite past time and I enjoy it and its a great way to bring friends and straight up random people together for something that does has no negative effects on society and everything else

dude, stopping for a little while to clean yourself out is fine but quiting puffing all together is just down right blasphemy!
I am using this cleanse as an opportunity to quit smoking cigarettes though. I am down to about a pack every 1.5-2 weeks so I am doing good, but not good enough. Cigarette smoke free by the end of the month, hopefully forever!! :thumb:

hahahaha, I've been reading about a few people who have quit lately, and I just started again.....
its just cause of my damn night job at pizza hut, I live for smoke breaks there, but I'm only smoking while I work there, I told myself when i started again (it had been about 2 years since my last one) that I am only smoking until I quit. I've actually been thinking about quitting lately, when I quit the tobacco goes........ well cig tobacco at least, However blunts are a different story, even though all I use is the shell

I don't know who Kat Von D is...
It's actually a bit more then that. You have to drink about 8 - 10oz glasses a day and more when you get hungry. After a few days, you don't actually get hungry any more.
You also need to drink salt water in the mornings as a "flush" to get all the nastiness out of your system.
If you do it for the length I do you really need to read up on it because you need to learn how to come off the cleanse! If your body doesn't digest solid foods (or anything other than liquid) for 2 weeks the body needs help to readjust to solid foods. If you were to eat a candy bar the following day after the cleanse, that would be bad!!!
Next Thursday the nastiness begins (gotta wait until after my birthday for obvious reasons)...

dude... you have some serious balls to be doing this
i have no discipline over drastic lifestyle changes for more than a week. I can change small things like eating less of something or more of something else, but not to the magnitude of what your talking about

^It's not fun bro, trust me. I think of it like this though... I spend 70% of my time making my body unhealthy (ie. drinking daily, smoking daily - both varieties and eating unhealthily). If I sepdn this much time fuking myself up, I see no reason why I shouldn't go through 2 weeks of hell, twice a year to reduce said effects and get the toxins out of my body. Trust me, I never have gone this long (first time ever was 5 days). It takes a while to be able to train yourself to do this. Ultimately, there is 100% no harm in trying it so I figured it was only for the best. If annything, it stops me from smoking and drinking for 2 weeks, which will be a nice relief...
My friend (32 y/o) just went on it for the first time. She passed a crayon which she ate at 4 years old. She assumed it got digested but it sat somewhere in here body (stomach, l. intestine, s. intestine, etc) for 28 years.

Holy SH-T! A crayon? That's nuts, I might have to try this. I was crazy as a kid, I didn't know that sh-t could f-ck you up for that long.

If you quit smoking you are over the physical cravings within 48 hours, from then on its just a mental thing, the habit of having a cigarette in your hand. (I assume you're talking about cigarettes).
If you can quit for 2 weeks why not just quit altogether?

If you can quit for 2 weeks why not just quit altogether?
Because that would just make way too much sense. :D

So are you just flushing out your system by fasting and drinking this stuff or are you getting a colonic with it?
I thought that was the point of "a pain in the ass" part.

what?! a crayon?? damn, that's nuts. so the basic idea is that you just... stop eating and start drinking a lot of water?
advres

^No, you drink a mix of fresh lemon juice, cayenne pepper, grade B maple syrup and water.

do you take anything else like vitamins or just that concoction of a drink there.

No colonic but you do a salt water rinse twice a day (when you wake up and before you go to bed). The salt water has the same specific gravity as your body so nothing gets absorbed, it literally goes right through you to help clean you out.

Nothing else. The Grade B maple syrup and the lemon gives you all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients the body needs to sustain over the two week period.

what about protein? it contains 0% protein and if your body doesnt receive protein it will start breaking down muscle mass in order to do so..im not saying its bad cause it seems to work..but it doesnt seem healthy
advres
10-20-2007, 08:31 PM
Doesn't seem healthy? Sorry, but your body isn't going to shut down due to two weeks without protein. Also, two weeks is extremely long. The first time I did it I only lasted 5 days. And there have been many times in my life I have gone 5 days without a significant amount of protein. If you are major body builder or just had major surgery I wouldn't recommend it, but for your average shmoe (like me), I wouldn't be too concerned

I dont see how it helps you with ciggs. Espicially if your just quitting for now, and will smoke some later on? If it was me, Id be more concerned about what the ciggs have done to my lungs than anything else, and this lemon juice isnt going to help you there. Only years of not smoking will.

I am using it as a complete cleanse! I never once said I was going to continue to smoke. I am using this cleanse I do on a regular basis to finally quit for good. I always smoked through the process before but I figured if I was trying to get my blood stream and digestive tract healthy, I may as well use the time to quit smoking and help my lungs too.
Where did I say I was planning on wuitting smoking cigs for a 2 weeks and then get back on them? I did mention something about weed, but nothing about lung darts.

Did the salt water the night of 10/17 and started the cleanse on 10/18. I am now 4 days deep. Everything is going well except the Red Sox decided to make it to the World Series tonight. Now, I may have to cut this a little short and start all over again after Thanksgiving. :( Don't know yet. It would be really hard for me to watch the series w/o a drink in my hand, this could be a little too hard for me. We will have to see what happens.

i read all about this thing online and it seems pretty good. i think im going to do it in 2 weeks for a few days. i'm going to try and go for 5 days, though its recommended you do it for 10 day minimum. we'll see how it goes!
there are people that do this for 10 days, 2 weeks, 30 days and even some doctor that did it for 120 days!

I started out small too. Don't sweat that they say recommended is 10 days. Doing it for five will still be beneficial.
But don't cheat!!! Cheating resets you back to zero so you are doing this for nothing. If you cheat, just break the cleanse and start over another time. Doing it for five days with a snack here and there will do nothing for you.
