all i gotta say is, damn! this place looks siiiiiiick. havent seen a hotel as cool as this place since i stayed at The Bulldog in Amsterdam.
Has anyone every stayed here? Locations in Big Bear and Lake Tahoe
www.theblockhotels.com (http://www.theblockhotels.com)
Zoo York room
Spy room
Vivid Productions room!
...the list goes on
Plus i heard its mad cheap to stay there because all the sick hotel rooms have corporate sponsors.
all rooms have huge plasma tv's, PS2's, hot tubs, surround sound - plus some have bbq decks, rooftops, etc. - and dont get me started on the pictures of the lounges and common areas. its got the whole 9 yards...
who's stayed here, or heard of The Block before?

They are sh!t holes, I've stayed at both of them. They are nothing but old motel 6s w/cool stuff on the walls. The only reason I'd stay there is if I got comped again and there was a big event going on. I stayed at the Bear one for hot dawgs and hand rails and the Tahoe one for The Block Party. Got zero sleep at both of them because the walls are paper thin and people partying in the parking lot all night long.
I'd much rather stay at a Holiday Inn or even a Super 8.
^ That is very good to know. I had been tempted by the cool looking rooms, but now I know better!

i feel what your saying, but that sounds awesome to me...
i've stayed at the one in big bear before, and i have to agree with pretty much everything parkcityxj said. it's a POS old motel with fun stuff. they gave us free red bull, beer, mags, and some free shirts, but the place itself was still pretty bad. the pictures in mags/websites make it look a lot nicer than it really is.
if i was 18-21 years old, i'd probably be more into it... but i'm not.

yeah judging by the pictures there is a lot of cool stuff hanging off the walls, but the building itself looks ghetto.
get me out of GA

This is a good thread, with some nice info. I still however think it would be pretty cool to stay there for at least one night. The "party all night in the parking lot" sounds like something that would be a good time haha. So does a junkyard park.

i have a place in bear and in the past two years i have been there twice to party, which were ****ing chill. but yea its pretty much a POS hotel, a lot of the Bear comp after partys are there. I have had friends who have gotten ****ed over staying there. Your better off staying in a rental cabin or hit up the holiday in down the road from bear. not to mention the block isnt within even a walking distance to the resort. if your looking for a place to stay in bear next winter message me and i get you something ALOT better then a POS hotel.

you go there to ride during the day and get fuct up at night. yea, if you wanna get a good night sleep in a fancy hotel room, don't stay there.

^ Did you finally stay there? I was going to stay there for like a week this winter with me and a couple of my buddies and ride some of the places that we havent riddent in tahoe before. Just wanted a cheap place to stay so we didnt have to drive up and down the mtn everyday. but we might reconsider...
