ive never done a full size pond, but ive done some good size puddles, and from what ive noticed, just go fast, and keep your nose up and stay flat based.

one thing, regardless of form, that back foot is gonna get wet.
your gunna slow down on the water kinda fast, so don't let it trip you forward!

yea, prepared to be jolted forward when you hit the water. the friction it causes is usually what makes you fall.
like someone said, dont do it unless you plan on getting dunked. if you make it out dry, then think of it as a bonus

I've seen some super funny pond skimming videos. I've always wanted to try it but never have gotten the chance. I hope some of the mountains near summit county have a skimming competition sometime later this season.
I can see how the friction would jolt you forward but if you are going fast enough and you lean back enough you should be okay. I mean, I've seen guys 180 onto the water before.

it depends on where the contest is held most places make it a pretty good 10ft in length

i froze my boots on accident one time..i took them off outside on the patio we had and left them there..and a little snowdrift formed around/in them...and i had to unfreeze them...with a blowdryer..and lets just say..my feet stankkkkkkk
