Couldn't we just all vote rather than leaving it in the hands of who suggested the topic? And then who wins suggest next topic? Seems a bit more democratic don't you think?

i think thats a cool idea, except then it would take longer to move from one contest to the next, because we'd all have to wait for the votes to come in, etc...

and could we make the poll where you can't see the results?

It's a great idea, but I have to disagree... just for simplicity/time's sake. It would be a little bit(not much but a little) complicated to get the pole set up after all submissions are in. And I think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so why not let the person who chose the contest choose the winner? Not to step on toes, just my .02

I just think it'd be a bit more egalitarian rather than just putting one person in charge. It would allow everyone to participate rather than just a post and run type scenario. The poll doesn't take any time at all to put up. Especially since these things run later than the 2 weeks they're supposed to run. I don't see how its complicated. Limit the number of submissions to 10 (or however many you want), 1 entry per poster, and then the docket is full, just put a poll with numbers 1-10 and then make it blind. It takes all of a few minutes to do. When the poll is up, make a post on how many days everyone has to vote and at the end, presto a winner is proclaimed and then he/she provides a new topic. It just needs to be clear how everything works. I'd like to think most people on this board can read some guidelines.
