Ive seen alot of good bands this yr. idk if you would like some of them though: norma jean, the chariot, fear before the march of flames(twice), underoath (twice, maybe a third time on monday), these arms are snakes, hopesfall, bury your dead, as i lay dying, as cities burn, 100 demos, 3 inches of blood, the bled, and in a few weeks zao, a life once lost

Emo originally stood for emotional hardcore and bands like Rites of Spring, Husker Du, Embrace etc. fit into that genre. In the 80's Fugazi would've been considered emo.

Today, this watered down pop punk with whining is considered to be "emo".

if you are talking about underoath you're wrong... I used to listen to them and if you look at the lyrics the christian influence is obvious. I mean how can you question a band being christian with lyrics like "jesus I'm ready to come home" (or something along those lines, it's been so long since I gave them a listen)
