Thursday

here's something that I find to relieve the stress of seeing this stuff
step1: get friends attention
step2: point and laugh
its that simple and it works!
cuethebirds
09-02-2005, 01:09 AM
i wear my goggles over my mouth for extra steeze
kelly
09-02-2005, 02:17 AM
Do they fog up?
cuethebirds
09-02-2005, 02:20 AM

NEFFsteeze
09-02-2005, 02:22 AM
theres only one more way you could have more steeze and thats if they are upside down over your mouth while fogging with steeze.
cuethebirds
09-02-2005, 02:23 AM
dang your right
kelly
09-02-2005, 02:24 AM
To protest steeze, I've decided to wear my goggles way too high, kinda like urkel pants, except with goggles. Only I wonder if it would look like they were just on my forehead.
cuethebirds
09-02-2005, 02:26 AM
i think itll just look like you just fell and your goggles went up on your head a little

kelly
09-02-2005, 02:32 AM
yeah, but goggle sag has the same effect, except obviously you fell in the opposite direction. Well, either that or it looks like you don't know how to work your goggle strap properly
Thursday
09-02-2005, 02:33 AM
i like to think of it as Goggle Malfunction
kelly
09-02-2005, 02:53 AM
Ooh, if I get on the lift with any saggy goggle kids, I'm so gonna ask them if they've had a "goggle malfunction" :)

to add onto the goggle steez, do all that was mentioned, but with hologram lenses.
thedude
09-02-2005, 02:58 AM
oh yeah, and sticker up the frames and grab a sharpie and do art work on the strap
kelly

hologram lenses? I don't think I've seen those. Do they have ones like those old prank eyeball glasses?

kelly
09-03-2005, 09:26 AM
Double goggles? That's a whole new level. Pretty soon, it'll be like the 80's when people were wearing swatches all the way up their arms, except with goggles. Well, for those of you who have any memory of the 80's anyway.
SnoChica
09-03-2005, 06:27 PM
Swatch! HAHAHAHA..... I had one. My mom didn't let me get ever fad that passed through. But somehow I was able to beg her for a Swatch watch. In school, I won some contest and teh prize was a Swatch wall clock. That was basically a clock with super large watch straps that went up and down from the clock.
kelly
09-03-2005, 06:29 PM
Oooh! I so wanted one of those giant swatches. Those were so cool. I actually bought a swatch a few months ago - i don't usually wear a watch, but I needed one for a trip, and I happened across a swatch store, and I was like, woo hoo! swatch!
SnoChica
09-03-2005, 06:32 PM
Are they still all crazily designed?
kelly
09-03-2005, 06:42 PM
Yeah, they actually have pretty cool ones, too. Mine is old school swatch style, but it has funky graphics on the band and face, and when you tap on it, it's a little game, where the hands spin around and randomly select an outfit for the evening. :)

i admit it i use goggles sag everytime i put them on. If i wear a helmet especially. My electrics arn't comfortable ont he outside so i sag them underneath the helmet. I kinda grew accustomed to it so i do it even when iw ear a hat now its just more comfortable for me. I only wear the strap low though i don't wear the goggles way down.
snowboardnguy90
05-16-2006, 07:53 PM
my nose is kind of small (i'm asian) so goggle sag is almost unavoidable for me, unless i put the strap on uncomfortably tight.
so i only wear my goggles if it's snowing or especially bright outside, because it's uncomfortable for me to have the goggle sag on... and it plays with your vision also.

You know how I wear my goggles?
Because I sure as hell dont, I put them on so there comfortable.
I have decent goggles though so I can see great with them just kinda centered, on my eyes? hahah.
I think its the people who have the super huge frames thats its most noticeable on. They get the goggle tanline a little lower.
Other than that, no difference.
If your goggles are affecting your breathing or vision in a bad way you either need to put them on correctly or buy some decent goggles.
And I rock bandannas, I must be a poser.
I wear them on my head when its warmer.
My face if its colder.
And it hangs off my belt loop in between.

i do, but they always get loose, then i have to re-tighten them and crap. they get loose b/c i put them up on my helmet, so it stretches out and stuff.
i also never had goggles before 2 seasons ago, and i'm really accustomed to not wearing them, even if it's really bright. I only really wear it if it's snowing so nothing gets in my eyes.

Well hey . Your style is inherently low speed / sitting around.
# 1 reason for my goggles isnt sun / snow protection.
Its wind..
Im a fast rider though, my preferred cruising speed carving across a trails about 4-5x faster than the average person goes down it.
My goggles stop me from tearing up everytime I put them on.
Sometimes I need them for sun/ weather protection too. But wind comes first.

hardbooter = skier.
CrzyLikeAFoxx
06-15-2006, 07:03 PM
So a hardbooter is a skier. Ummm, cuz they make hard and soft snowboard boots. Either that or I've been lied to for all these years. Hard boots are for carving and alpine/racing. But some soft boots are pretty stiff as well which some might call a hard boot which are better for freeriding(at least that's what my buddies and I always reffered to them as). But we also know when we are talkin about a HARD boot or a hard boot. very confusing inner slang. We also call bindings hard and soft when they should technically be More/Less Responsive. And the pores on yor gogs help with air flow which help keep fog down, it's weird your feeling wind.

yea it's weird that i'm feeling wind. i think my goggles just dont'o fit my face right.
and you're right they make hard plastic boots for alpine boards, but most people don't go alpine.
hardboot is just a slang term for skier.

If your going fast or its breezy its a good sign that you can feel air moving, it proves that the venting system on the goggle is working correctly. It keeps your lenses from fogging and the air inside the goggle from getting too warm.
If your riding an alpine board you probably use hard boots.
And if somone says hardbooter on this snowboard site, it means that they are a snowboarder. Hardbooter is not a slang term for a skier, fruitbooter is.
Your wrong, so dont even bother defending yourself.
Dont rag on hardboot snowboarders either. Just because youve never tried doesnt mean its not incredibly sick in its own right..

Maybe it's my gogs or face, but I've been in some pretty windy situations and haven't felt wind coming in my vents(that I can really remember). Hmmm, interesting. I'll have to pay more attention to that this season, maybe I just never noticed.
And Pat man he just said Hardboot=Skier, that's all. Ya, people call skiers hardbooters at my local resort, but we don't get any alpiners. But since this is a snowboarding website, figured he meant hardboot boarder. Although fruitbooter, gonna say never heard of but funny none the less.

i deffinatly disagree. I always sag my goggles. Mostly just my strap though but the goggles come down only a very little bit. Like the goggles with be on my face normal but the strap will be down where the top of my neck meets my head.
You should deffinatly sag your goggles or at least the strap if you wear like a resevoir tip hat or something steezy like that.

bring the strap down low and just tighten it. Some gogles have a kind of stiff strap so it mgiht not work but with my electrics it works fine and it works with oakley wisdoms cuz of the hinge.
