I figured someone would post about this soon or later so why not me? I have been watching what has happened to New Orleans and those are citys and states that are on the coast where Katrina hit and does anyone else think something wrong with what's going on? People are stuck on roofs in a flooded city with no help! It is day FOUR!!!! Why isn't there any help to those people? And there are people on the news actually dying at the superdome on the streets!! ON THE FRICKIN STREETS!!! Becuase our president is a dumbass and isn't going down there untill Friday to work something out when his ass should of been down there Monday FOUR days ago. They even saw a shark swimming around in the city! It is to deep for people to walk though and they called off all the boats. There are also water moccasins. I can't believe that our president has done nothing!! The mayor has actually sent a S.O.S like it's is a damn war zone!

what are you talking about, they have been flying blackhawks down there trying to help as many people as possible, while this is not enough its better than nothing, but what you should also know is that some people are shooting at the helocopters as they are trying to help them which is pretty dumb

I think there are rescuers working, but it's too bad they didn't have a better evacuation plan too - that kind of incident has been a concern for planners for years. I remember discussing it in several classes. There was also a lot of discussion among architects and structural engineers about the choice of the superdome, since that size of long span structure was untested in that strength of wind.

they have been flyign blackhawks down their to put up jesry barriers to help dam the city up so they can pump water out, and they have been using them to get some peole out of there. at the same time it is a war zone. since the looting has been going on, some poeple are actually stealing guns and ammo. in some ofthe dry areas of the city, police and the Blackhawks were being fired at by people who have stolen the firearms. one officer was struggleing with a man who had a shot gun, and while he was fighting the man, the gun went off and almost blew the officers leg off.

some people may not liek this idea, but the looters and those who are shooting at the helicopters, i think the Blackhawks need to fly arodun the city, and when they spot people stealing **** form a store or performing some other violent, criminal act, they need to fly low and point the machine guns at them and use a speaker or somethign mounted to the outside of the helicopter so they can be like "drop the **** or we are gonna pump your ass wiht 2,000 rounds in 30 seconds!" that is kinda drastic, but it sure as hell would make peopl cut half the **** out once they hear that soeone was ripped to shreds by a military weapon. plus some of the **** pople are stealig is totally useless, like microwaves and ****. where the hell are they goignto plug them into? think about this one, there home is gone, so what's the use of having a microwave? i can totaly understnad food, but appliances? come one.

somethings got to give in thsi situation, and most of the city's peoel are not helping at this point. granted it is incredibly tough times right now, and i really send my heart out to these peoel, they need to cut the stupid **** out and start followig procedures.

the onyl way this mess is goign to be solved is fi peopel start doing as instructed to get the city back toliek it was before that damn hurrican

I think it's a crazy mass panic sort of situation. It's the whole crowd mentality thing, even if it's not logical, it's pretty easy to for people to get into a looting/riot pattern when they are subject to that kind of trauma.

we are having a nice convo over at a few of my forums and we all agree that the looting is out of conrtol and everything, most ppl are just looting like water and food but a lot of them are looting things like firearms and tv's and stuff, thats rediculous. and its funny you brought up the minigun scenario because its come up quite a few times lol.

Yeah, the firearms thing is dangerous in that kind of situation. It's too bad they have to worry about stopping that **** when there are still people trapped elsewhere and in need of rescue. (another reason I'm anti-gun)

retards. that one dude loosk liek he grabbed liek 7 of the same damn footbal jersey. when you loot you shoudl go for variety, but in this situation, i woudl have busted up the grocery store and took all the prepaired, canned foods, water, and snuck out a few 40oz. i'de also liek to know where these morons are goign to keep it. if they live in an appartment complex or some bi-level structure, they will most likely be evacuated and then get caught with stolen goods. at least they will then get some new cloths and food. a orange jump suit and some bread and water from the prison

Lol half the people didn't get caught. And 50 bucks a jersey is alot when you have 5 jersey's that you stole. Also what are those "sistahs" gonna do with shoes? the streets are flooded lol. To be honest I would of looted a Best Buy in this situation.(little items and worth more) Ipods and so on.

As the looting seems to be happening mostly in the city, I'm not sure there's a best buy readily available - usually those are in strip malls in the suburbs.

I know it is bull****, and then you get people on the news crying about, the tsunami victims and how there was relief there within a day, and no one is helping LA. Well, dammit if you would quit looting and ****, the video's we first saw of tsunami victims were devastating, people crying, dead people, people screaming for the family.....the first photo's we see of people in LA. are those of them with fuggin' TV's, Clothes, Shoe's and dumb ****, I know I'd be grabbin all the damn food I could, but as far as TV's and **** WTF!!

ok heres my opinion so dont get mad. there was an evacuation given to the city but nobody paid attention to it. if i was there i would probably just go to a relatives house in another state. or go travel. obviously you arent going to be working for a while so leave the area. secondly, im pretty sure this was going to happen eventually anyway. ive been to new orleans a few years ago, and they had signs in the middle of the city that said "this sign is 9 feet below sea level". thats not something to be proud of when your city is right next to the ocean. i do feel bad for all of those people being missplaced out of their homes. but personally i wouldnt have lived there. its called knowing what the f__k is going on around you. its like back in the day. the people that lived near mt vesuvious (sp) were like "wow this ground is so fertile." then the next day, their under 30 ft of ash cuz the mountain erupted. at least in another millenia, we will have another atlantis story.

dude, pop, i agree with ya on everything you said, ecspeially the fair warnign they had to leave the city. the monday before it hit, one week prior, the mayor gave a strong recomendation to leave the city. by tuesday he was saying that people need to leave, and transportation was available for thsoe that needed it. and by wednesday nobody was leaving, so he jsut was sittign there going "what the **** is wrong with you people?" basically they had their chance, and they all blew it. nwo their city is in ruin, and nobody locally is doign **** to help out. it is an anarchist state ther right now, or very close to it, and people are just beginning to **** themselves over down there. i feel terrible for thos ehwo want to make a diofference and get their city back on track, but i have nothign but hostility toward everyoen down there looting and being compleate dip****s. that's why i want to go blow people up down there and i want to see some helicopters start pluggin' peopel with the miniguns.
