I think I'm going to see them in Philly in October.

Damn, I'm so out of the new bands loop. I think I'm already one of those old people who's all "damn, the music these young people listen to..."

Kelly.... this is the kind of music you don't hear on the radio. That stuff sucks. If you look, and you don't have to look too hard, I mean, just scrape beneath the surface, you'll find tons of good bands.

Yeah, I don't listen to the radio at all... I listen to kind of obscure punk and hardcore, mostly from the 80's through mid-90's...

Well... there's some good stuff out now that sounds like it could have come out of the 80s and 90s. (Not to be confused w/Death Cab though, they aren't what I'm talking about here.)

Yeah, I've been trying to get back on top of good new bands so I can go to shows, cuz everyone I like seems to be breaking up! :)
Death Cab for Cutie seems cool, but way mellow though. Like mellower than my one and only super mellow cd for those rare occasions when I'm not totally wired.

just finished half of the cd and I've got to say, its a bit more downbeat from their last album but it still totally rocks!!!

Yea, I didn't start listening to Death Cab till recently, when I was browsing through my younger sisters cd's and threw it in. From their name, I didn't expect them to be mellow. I like.

Try the song "Title and Registration" off the Transatlanticism CD... good stuff.

I am a big fan of DCFC and mellow and somewhat depressing music in general. I'm kind of a dark, cynical guy who always seems to see things in a negative aspect. Oh well.

i listened to the cd straight through without skipping a song, that's rare for me.

HAHAA, that's very rare for me as well.
has anyone listened to the Postal Service? I guess the lead singer from DCFC teamed up with some other dude on this album.

Yeah, The Postal Service is a side project of Ben Gibbard (lead singer of DCFC). He teams up with Jimmy Tamborello, who releases music under the name Dntel. Dntel's music is all electronic and its pretty good stuff.
