yeah the lower back one is fine. It kinda sucks that thats where everyone seems to get it because it ruins the tabooness of it but its also kinda like the arm for guys, its just the typical place you would get it. I wonder though how many ppl get it just to be cool at like 18 will regret it later.

Yeah I would say, upper body tattoo's on girls is a No-No, but anything like lower back, ass, inner thigh, ankle, foot....ALL HOTT.....althought the coolest tattoo, I ever saw on a girl was on her EAR....it was a stem tattooed on the outer part (cartilidge-lobe) and when in leafed out she had her ears pierced with ruby earrings in them....looked really good and original!!

clebage tattoos normally means they have one or two STD's. big sign to stay away. the lower back thing, i didn't mind it that much before they started gettign way to popular amoung girls. now that, in my eyes, is as trashy as seeing someone with clevage tats. it you had a back one before they got huge, then that's cool, but the ones that everyoen gets with the wings and hearts or that black wavy ****, then it pops into my head "yeah, it's on your bakc so the next guy you do doggy with at a frat party can see it. liek he gives two ****s about some back tattoo."

I'll agree with that. Part of the reason I don't have one is cuz I can't decide what I want. I should probably be x'd up somewhere though, so the other edge kids don't make fun of me. :)

I had a friend that had the a lower back tattoo long before it was big... It was 2 dragons facing each other. Their tails wrapped around to the front ending at the crease that the pubic bone and the thigh make. Very very hot.

Cleavage tattoos are sorta trashy on girls, but I don't think tattoos on the collar-bone area above your boobs is. I think that's hott. I kinda want a lower back tattoo because I saw this awesome design that would go great with my lower back "dimples", but a lot of girls have tattoos there so I think I'm just going to get my entire back done instead... or at least most of the upper half of it. About the STD thing, roughly 3/4 of the adult population has one. Whether they know it or not is a different story. You can carry and not show symptoms of the most common STDs such as HSV 1+2 and HPV. Not to mention HPV is undetectable if you're not exibiting symptons.

Very true, although cases that serious are easy to prevent and quite rare. The other thing is for some reason HPV can actually "go away" in women where as men get stuck with it. Weird...

hahahah.. i am getting everything that needs outlined done today, but 60% of the tattoo doesnt have an outline. which is why i'm afraid of fading, but we'll see what happens. i think it looks so much prettier that way. i'm getting all the flowers, the cursive organ, the mannequin's shades, lips, outline, and hair done today. i have to go back for the rest of it. double appointment, totally worth it already and all i have is a drawing.

The crying eye is like my signature mark, or drawing or what ever. If anyone who knows me sees one, they instantly think of me or know that I'm around. I'm going to be getting one once I move out, but I'm still trying to decide if I want colour or just black and white (which is what I usually draw them in). I do think that tribal tattoos on the lower back are kind of un-original depending on what they are. Alot of girls get those tattoos cause they are "cool". just go to a local (reputable) shop and just ask one of the artists to draw you something up, tell him what you want in in a they will come up with a killer piece most of the time. thats what their there for to come up with **** like that but dont put 15 different things into a tat it gets way to busy looking, just incorporate a few things that have deep meaning to you but keep everything similar too, you dont want mountains, snowboarding along with fishing or something, but like I said just head to a shop and have someone draw something up for you, most will ask for a $20 deposit that goes towards your tat and if you dont like it, they'll redraw you something new, dont be afraid to say you dont like it and just settle on something they have drawn for you, MAKE SURE ITS PERFECT!

^^^^ Um yeah he is kind of right. You can just go to a normal shop and get it done, I think that the Miami Ink shop is overrated, and it is probably hard to work out a time to get one. If you do either get Kat or Garver. Garver is an amazing artit.

Anyway, if you go somewhere else........ try to research some local tattoo artists so you know that you are getting work done by a really talented artist. If you just go to a local shop, you may not get a artist that is that experienced or creative. Look through the portfolios of a bunch of people and fins someone who has some good work, then talk it out with them when you go to get it.

The only thing that happened was the area was super sore and swollen for a week or so. No infection--no leaking--it's exactly the same as when the dude tattyied me 7 years ago.

Im 18 and I think tattoos before that age is kinda stupid. First of all once I am 18 it is LEGAL for me to do by myself. AKA my parents wouldnt kick me outa the house for doing something without their permission because it isnt needed anymore.

Also, I feel that a tattoo is something very important (hence it IS permanent) and should have lots of thought put into it. I want to get a tattoo in my future but I want it to be something I designed myself and that has lots of meaning and thought put into it. Theres no simple undo button for tattoos.

I agree with ya elevation.. However I don't regret any of the body art I have accumulated over the past years from the home made work (needle, indian ink and thread) when i was 16 to the first tat in a shop when i was 18 and so on. Personal preference and memories from those times in life will always be there.

yeah advres I love your tattoos but I hate them too. Its great work but I just cat get into Japanese artwork.

I'd been wondering though since I got my newest one recently....... How many hours of work do you have done on your body and how much have you spent on it so far?

I do not keep complete track but for hours I would guess in the 35-40 hours range.

Price is weird too. He normally charges $150/hour but since I get a lot of work he gives me a deal. For example, when I was getting the color done on my arm I brought $600 and told him that was all I had. He went for 7+ hours to get the majority of it done and told me to give him the $600. It should've been $1050 before tip for that sitting but that's just the way things go. Somedays you get a deal if he is into working on you and others you don't. So, I would have to guess about $3000 so far roughly which is a steal.

oh, and $50 isn't usually a custom tattoo. Cory doesn't even aloow flash into his studio. If he isn't drawing it from scratch, he isn't doing it, period, so you are not only paying for his time in tattooing but his artistic representation of your ideas also.

haha... I stopped piercing too. Those things you just grow out of. A recently started re-stretching my ears but in general, I just lost my taste for my piercings. It kinda happens when you have to go into the real world. This job doesn't care but my first job out of college didn't like my labret too much.

Good idea. My oldest brother is going more your style with multiple smaller ones in different areas over a longer period of time. Not my steeze but everyone is different.

And the elbow isn't too bad because there is a lot of skin back there. It is easy to move it around so they aren't drilling directly into the bone. Worst places I have encountered was right around the nipple, my hip bone and RIBS SUCK! I can sit for a long time and endure a lot (notice the 7+ hours in one sitting) but I can't go for more than 1-1.5 hours when it comes to the ribs. I am not looking forward to my right side.

yeah my friend has a piece on his ribs that will NEVER get finished. The artist wanted to do it in all one sitting and after about an hour and a half my friend had enough and wanted to get the **** out so he could rest and smoke.

The artist had like a major epiphany a couple weeks ago and turned his life around and quit EVERYTHING. stopped doing drugs, drinking, smoking cigs, cut his dreads off, burned all his old painting and portraits, and he started getting these weird visions and seeing things and a bunch more random sheit, I could go on for awhile.... I went to go get a piece done from him and he told us about all that starting happening to him and basically preached to us for a few hours, and before we left he was like "well I still got some more stuff to burn wanna help me?" so we went and torched over $4,000 of tattoo and piercing supplies, man so many needles, metal tubes, ink caps, ointment, tons of random stuff that I didnt know what the hell it was for......although I never saw him torch the power supply or any of the guns the I have a hunch that he may have kept some but he quit tattooing for good. So I never got a new piece and the one my friends got on his ribs is going to stay just the outline because he didnt want to do that whole piece with color in one sitting and now the dude quit and nobody wants to tattoo over another artist's work.

I think the guy needs to see a psychiatrist. That is just not normal. My old room mate flipped out like that too and decided to jump from a moving car at 85 MPH. After skin grafts, heeling hey required a psychiatric evaluation. It was determined he was bipolar and was developing paranoid schizophrenia. Not cool to deal with so I had to distance myself from it. Seriously man, you don't just go and torch your paintings if you are an artist. I would never burn my work.

dude his stuff was AMAZING!!!! I was so bummed I couldnt get a tattoo done by him.

He said he was like getting voices and sheit talking to him, and one time he had these people come to his house and started talking to him before taking him out back in the woods then he said they were like beating him and pulling off the ground by his hair. He said that went on for a couple hours until he all of a sudden woke up out in the woods all by himself. Later he said these church people came over and they said they wanted to pray for him out of nowhere.....after that he changed completely, although the freaky stuff didnt stop. When he was burning an old sword he had he said the liquid metal formed into the shape of a snake and it starting coming towards him as he walked away.....creepy stuff like that. Although it was kinda strange cause when we were they he showed us that piece of metal he kept after it cooled, and it WAS shaped like a snake....but it wasnt alive or anything.....that dude went crazy for real
