View Full Version : unpaid parking tickets
i am not really sure where to post this but it sticking here.
i got a parking ticket that was due on sunday 9/4/05. everytime i try to pay the ticket online or over the phone i get a response that my ticket # is not on file. do i still pay the ticket? did i just get off lucky or will this come back to kick my ass. i have been tried to call the number on the ticket, but its only an automated system
remember. i am already pissed that i got the ticket b/c the permit parking only sign was hidden in the branches of an over grown tree.

You could always wait and see if you get a second notice.
does that happen? like the mail it to u or something.

Yes you will get a second notice but it is usually an upcharge. So watch out for that. But get it taken care of either way. I had a ticket that I did not pay and they suspended my license till I paid it. It took a while for them to do that, but they did. So heads up.

its only 33.00

Okay here is my other area of expertice, 1. Make sure your calling the right court house. 2. If there is no number on file, you mave have got lucky and the cop decided not to turn is his pink copy, which does happen. 3. Go to the court house and there should be a list of people (like you) who have fines out/due that week.
IF YOU DO NOT PAY:
You WILL get a second notice, however it will not be from the court house. It will be from a collection agency, and the DMV may put a hold on your licsence, so when ever you have to RENEW you won't be able to, until you pay. Also it will show up if you are involed in a traffic stop....so I would go to the courthouse and if anything tell them you got a ticket, but you lost it.....they will run your name and DL#, either they will look at you like your stupid and say "No sir, you don't" or "Yes, please give me $33"

in michigan, we don't have the DMV, we just go through the secretary of states office. that might be the reason for my answer sounding a little ****ed up:
call, tell them it isn't on file, so are nto paying it. and when thye try to look it up, they will go bat **** insane over it because you get away with not payign the ticket.

parking tickets are so wack, it's funny cause I was just taking my homie to the bank today and while I waited for him, I watched the meter dude ticket like three cars, two of the dudes came out of the bank and saw their tickets. The one dude just ripped that **** up and threw it on the ground in front of the meter guy. The other one just stood there perplexed. that **** was funny as hell. Here in seattle if you're downtown you gotta pay for parking everywhere those companies make soo much loot off of everyone it's ridiculous. Hope you get outta that though stick it to the man!!!
i finally got a hold the damn traffic office and the lady told me that the ticket is not on file yet probably b/c the cop never turned it in. she says the ticket is not late until the cop turns it in and if i pay and he never turns it in i still lose the money. i ended up mailing a check out with profanity writen all over the check and ticket.

I just got one a couple of days ago, bastards!
I always wait until just before it is due, then send a fax requesting an extension of time to pay, which usually gives another 3 months to pay it.
Just can't bring myself to pay it right away.

i got a bs ticket and i called the sarge in charge (hah that rhymes) of parking and he argued with me. i told him i was looking at a pic i took of the sign i was parked next to and he told me i was wrong. dude was ignorant. im callin him back today and try and figure out a court date.
obviously as a college student i have a lot of time and not a lot of money **** was 25 bucks!

I got a parking ticket in my drive-way once.....I went to the court house and showed them my driver's license and the ticket and was like "Do you see any similarities?" The judge looked at me and was like, "It's the same address" I reply to him, "Yeah!, sooooo" He looked at the ticket again, gave me my license and told me to leave....it was ridiculous!!
my sister told me that one of co-workers nieghbors is a cop and he walks up and down the street writing parking tickets to his nieghbors.

i dunno what tickets are like in ohio, but in san francisco you always get at least 2 letters requesting payment before they up the price...
i dunno, personally i've never paid a ticket before they send me the notice in the mail...
on my ticket it said must pay with in ten days, contact court date for late fines

Well it's because I live across from the mountain, and honestly there is a problem, like I've had people towed out of my drive-way before!! He didn't know that I lived there, it was when I first bought the Audi, so he didn't recognize the car!

remember the "meter fairy" prank form Jackass. one of the dudes dressed up in a costume and a coin puch droppig quarters in the meters right in front of the meter guy. lol, i've always wanted to try that

I think they did get in trouble for that, that's City/State money their not going to let some one spend $10 helping people when they could be charging the driver's....what was it.....$33 a piece!

i almost bought the audi A4, but i got the jetta instead. its the same car, but just the audi has a few extra luxary items. i didnt think it was worth the price upgrade.

Damn, that sucks. I have no car now. I would have had a crap car, but some old lady ran a red light and hit me and totalled that.

i tink he shoudl have gotten aressted, but who is goign to arrest a fairy? you'de bring him in and the other officers would be liek "um, where were you on break?"
