If you are a geek and you like open source you would like reading this. You kind of need to know who Eric Raymond is though. http://esr.ibiblio.org/index.php?p=208 Worth a read.
that is some funny stuff. i got a lot a friends (unix and window) who would die laughing over this

Pretty funny; but I would never intentionally piss-off a potential employer, even if it is Microsoft (and I write open-source too, but I'm not famous like Eric Raymond  )

but eric raymond bases his career off open source and bringing down big business like microsoft. he would be a total hyprocrite if he took that job.
but i do agree with u on open source. i am glad its exists, but stay in its own nitch. I love .NET and i strongly believe in the next couple of years it going to be everywhere. one cool thing about .net is that only fellow OOP's are going to be having these positions and only big business can afford to run and maintain these huge Information Systems. I have seen some percedural programers bullsh*t there way into the OO world, but not with .NET. Knowing objects inside out is a must and u cant even fake it and try to write procedural with it.
oh and visual studio is like the only huge ass IDE that i like. microsofts auto complete and auto and namespace/class lookups actually work and speed up my coding time, unlike sorry attempts made by other IDE's like Borland

The only IDE I like is Emacs :p
But this is getting pretty off-topic... a better place would be Slashdot.

I'd say anyone who can use vi has pretty strong geek-credentials:-)
