I was at the Lifetime reunion show in Philly in July. Good stuff.
Throwdown, Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand (I know I know, post hardcore but whatever), H20 (go!), Hatebreed, and a ton of others. Among other stuff. Big metal head and hip hop head (but not the **** that passes as hip hop these days, just the good stuff). And I've definitely mellowed in the last few years. I love Coldplay, Radiohead, Neil Young, etc. Maybe I should just go through the list I have on Myspace.

Death Metal = Pure Awesomeness
Slipknot = Nu-metal ****, should all be hanged
Hardcore = Only Nu-metal is worse
Christ hardcore is bad. Just plain bad. For every hardcore band that shows a little bit of promise there are already 50 amazing Death Metal bands. That's fine though. You guys can stick with your remedial song structures, unfocused screams, retarded ninja moves and overall inferior musicianship whilst I listen to good music.

this post makes it sound like you only like one type of music. doesnt that seem a little silly? i mean, theres just so much out there. Death Metal is cool, dont get my wrong. i rock out to cradle from time to time. to me hardcore isnt as much about amazing song structure or awesome vocals, its about something more, its about being angry, and not wanting to put up with the **** anymore. taking a stand against. as far as the ninja moves thats more of a metalcore thing, but whatever, its dancing, its fun.

Yeah, I grew up going to shows at the Troc and that First Unitarian Church (and occasionally the TLA and the Electric Factory) .. the troc was always way fun, although I think once I hurt myself pretty badly on some of the fancy moulding on the columns in a mosh-pit related incident. :)

So I just picked up the new Path of Resistance. Not so much cause I like Path of Resistance but because a) it's dedicated to my friend Joey who died in February. and b) it's all about animal rights. So I felt like I was supporting a good cause. I kind of thought I'd just put it next to the other one and listen to it like once every couple years but this one's actually better than the last one.
But I'm still more excited to hear the new Freya album cause I hear it's better than the first one - no wussy emo vocals (which is good to hear).
