What are the worst goggles you have seen/used. I have a pair of Briko goggles that I bought in a pinch. And I must say they are just really bad, and really ugly too, the most important part.

Worst goggles i've had were Dragons, over priced crap goggles that were horrible, i think the $15 goggles in bins would have been an improvement, bad lenses and bad designs. Maybe they've improved but i'm never going back to crappy Dragons.

haha i had some cheap scotts from the lodge one time that i used for two seasons cause i had no money to buy new ones... the entire frame's color went from red to silver because i had to duck tape them after three days riding. and they would fog up like no other when i got on the lift...

I got some Dragons last year as it was cheaper to get them than spare lenses for my Robins. Not had any problems with them, no misting and vision's fine - my other half and brother have Dragons too and they've found them fine too.

yeah they scratch so easy my fridn has a pair on there is like no padding what so ever.

But the nicest pair(sarcasm) ive seen is a pair of 10 doller smiths's with no lens and tape around the head for a strap. Yeah my home mountain is pretty ghetto. Not gangsta ghetto like poor ghetto.

07-15-2006, 04:38 AM
i think so, the venting system really helps keep the lenses from fogging... i sweat like a stuck pig so any extra help makes a difference.

The pink iridium lens works great during the day or at night, high contrast. But i mean, you can order different lenses, its all replaceable.

There's only one solution, buy some Anon Figments.

but the worst are anything that you buy for $15 at a resort when your in a jam and dont have any. for example, carrera.

dude, dont talk ish if youve never tried them. lesson #1. I rocked grenade goggles all season and I love them. yes my lenses are ****ed up but whos isnt. keeping the lense of your goggles nice is a hard thing to do. or at least for me. I have oakleys and they are scracthed to **** and I even kept them in the bag all the time. besides the point. grenade goggles are light, the perefrial is huge, and they are pretty steezy.

during the day i wear wisdoms with blue lenses but when it get a little dark i switch my lenses to the high intensity yellow and those are the s**t it can be dark and as long as you have alittle bit of light you can still see everything, the best part of it is it can be 8 pm and when you have these on it looks like the sun is still out.

Jackson76
07-15-2006, 10:02 AM
I've had to buy cheap pairs a few times, when I forgot mine, and every time, they've sucked. I've bought the cheap Smiths, Scotts, and even a pair of anon's and they all fogged up really bad. I was suprised at how much I hated the Anon's, because I've always heard good things about them. I usually wear my pair of Quicksilvers, and I love them, never fog up, they had a gold reflective lens, so they are pretty much good for any time of day, except for that period when it starts to get dark, before the lights are on.

yeah i would have to say any goggles less than $40 or $50 suck. they are just not made that well....i can tell you what goggles rock though, the anon majestics and oakley a-frames, the anons are actually the best goggles i've ever had they never fog up and plus they are hot pink leather which makes it even better.

elmoiscool45

You gotta be kidding me are ANON's really THAT good? what makes them so good?

For one they have a good design. 2 they dont easily fog up unless you are weird. 3 they arent as expensive as oakley A's. and 4 they have cheap replaceable lenses. $20. whereas oakley lenses are like$70 or $80. thats what makes them so good.

I'll probably get trashed for this but...

My Anon (Majestic, girly line) are the WORST. They let too much air pass through and I couldn't ride at all without my eyes becoming so watered that I had to constantly stop; it was a nightmare. They fit and felt awesomely though.

The A-Frames I have had much better (as in, not over-kill) ventilation. My only complaints is that they're not girl-specific (big on face relative to the Anon), the lenses aren't all that easy to swap (especially on the slopes), and on certain days they would constantly fog up.

I'm definately checking out different vendors for this season!

kelly
07-18-2006, 05:07 PM
maybe it's a trade off between having more ventilation and your eyes watering, and less ventilation so they fog up some? I used to have smiths with vents that opened and closed, which was kind of nice.

i had some smiths that blew.
then my original spy scoops when they first came out. i used FOREVER. i was pretty happy. comfy, fit my face, little fogging.
this year im tryin the A frames and love them . FIRE lense for day and H.I. yellow for night. unfortunately the HI yellow is messin with my depth perception at night (the combination of clare from my hard contacts and the color is just not workin) so if anyone is interested in the lense im willing to get rid of it in place of a clear.

my roommate got some nice anons for xmas. he used them ONCE! and the steezy garbage is already coming off the strap. junk.

I hate Scotts. Sadly though My eye blew up at Stratton. So after going to the eye doc today I cant wear my contacts for a week.

That means this weekend I have to wear my old Scott Over the Glasses goggles.

I just want to curl up and die :(

Dude. you have money now, you can at least afford a pair of nice orange Gordini's. =)
