What do you prefer strap or click in. I personally like the strap, more support and not a very likely chance of me unexpectedly disconnecting from my board.

I've had a couple of step in systems over the past four years now. first was a highback setup, and now a flat binding setup. Both are K2. I don't like the old burton system, but I'd like to try the flow system. I've heard everyone ask: Why not strap-ins? What about snow buildup? What about disconnects?

All I gotta say, is if you can rent a decent set, give em a try. Be careful with rentals though, because rentals tend to suck.

I never had a problem with snow buildup, or any disconnect. But what I have had is this: I get into both bindings in like 5 or 10 seconds, and then I have to wait (feels like forever) while everyone else is still straping their first binding.

Best thing is no cold or wet ass, and I can be last off a lift and first down the hill. :)

I personally have strap and i like it more because of the controll i can waste the extra time for the extra controll but i do miss the quickness of the disconnect and reconnect when you go down a hill and go around a turn only to find a slight uphill that you don't have the speed for, you got two choices disconnect or hopit. well with clickers its a no brainer disconnect is quick but with straps it's a toss up between hop forever or wait forever... both have thier good and bad points too bad there's no happy medium...

I personally love my Flow bindings...so much easier to put on and its more comfortable than the traditional strap bindings.

Strap in. Clicks are a pain in the ass with the snow build up.

Sorry it should be phat (phat air) you just don't get any support in step in bindings

the controll and suport is definately the biggest factor of why i went with strap!

Flow binding should be the law.... wurd

ok i've never used flow's but i've been hearing great things and the ONLY negative comment i've heard is that they don't fold down so it takes up a little more room... do you have to buy different boots or are they the same boots as strapins?

definitely strap. when i first started boarding, i used a click-in. it sucked arse because when i tried to take it off to adjust my boot, it got iced in. i had to hop over to a ski patroller & had to ask him to help me pull it off.

I think all bindings have there good and bad points. I have always had k2 clickers that i love. Yet i have wondered about straps. I like the speed of my clickers and feel that they give me great control of my board. If you haven't tried clickers yet I think you should. I plan to try straps just to see if there is a difference.

I agree, there are trade-offs to everything. I prefer the speed of the K2 clickers as well, but I'm on the east coast, where powder build up is unfortunately not a problem.

I was talking to a couple of guys who were sporting the new flows, and they hated em. Both said they had something break. One of em broke their baseplate brake in half, the other had some problem with the cable. I forgot exactly what he said went wrong, but both said to stay away from em.

My boots also have a cable system instead of laces, which is by far the best convenience feature i've used so far. It is so quick and easy to put on / adjust / and take off. For me its way better than laces. But then again, someone else might have a problem and prefer laces. Its all about the trade-offs.

i say strap... the flows seem pretty cool but i think the K2 cinch bindings are way easier adjusted than flows and are the closest you can get to step in bindings... Now all K2 or any other company has to do is get the pivoting high back like the flows but incorporate the toe cup from the tech 9 and burton bindings and that will be my ideal binding

Best thing is no cold or wet ass, and I can be last off a lift and first down the hill. :)I had K2/Shimano Clickers as my first bindings/boots. They worked great, very fast, just click in as you move away from the lift, no stopping required at all, except waiting for friends to strap in as you mention.

Have used Burton strap bindings since, but never had a problem with the Clickers.

You can not judge them by one day on a rental pair, which usually are trashed low end gear, boots not moulded to your feet, etc.

I plan to take my Clickers out for a ride next season to see how they compare to straps, now that I'm used to the straps.

straps forever. thats why i said k2 cinch... it is a combination of the two and i think by far better than regular straps... they are faster and eaiser to adjust

PS - Nice Mohawk ivegotnoclue.no not that slow... but the k2 bindings i have been talking about you step in and flip a switch and the straps tighten them selves on your boot automatically....

my sister had click ins on a rental one day and to get into them u have to get all the ice off and u have to be on a flat surface to click into them
that exactly the reason i rock straps
burton missions

yeah straps just the feeling of having the tightness on ur foot makes me feel more secure. and also straps look a lot sicker ride spi dfc gold and black bandanna on the highback pretty spiffy.

ive used both and both are responsive. my prob is that i have small feet and really small ankles. so the boots dont hold my feet well with clickers. a few times ive come right out of the boots and had to chase after the board in my socks. so now i just ride strap ins.

Strap-ins or Flows. My experiences with step-ins have left me with terrible riding stories I will never live down.

It's never fun to go careening down the hill at 40 miles an hour because the lock on the bindings never fully engaged. Straps give me a much greater sense of security.

it's all about the straps, and now that i've gone the way of the toe cap strap there is no turning back
