Dude that’s a sweet how they can do that. Kind of like your one shot you had on hear a while ago.

Yep, it is a number of photos stitched together using special software designed to warp the multiple images so they fit together exactly as a single image.
The individual images can be taken handheld, but the stitching process is easier if a special panohead is used on a tripod.
The sequence of images in my signature below is how I do my cylindrical QuicktimeVR images. To do full spherical QTVR panos you take more images, multiple rows, up/down, etc.
