I am always hiking in the backcountry. On my local mountain it is easy to get the backside.

definately, it's always nice to spend a day just hiking and building a kicker somewhere with some friends. Very relaxing.

yeah after hitting some of the woods at the resorts, I think back country would be a rockin time. I want to get up to mt washington, that seems so slick up there.

i rode back country for the first time with my friend when we took a trip out to colorado this past season. It was really tight, but i've gained like over 20 lbs since i got my board so it sucks in powder. I can't wait to get a new one for next season and try it out.

back conutry kicks espcially if you find an awsome spot to film and scare the folks when you fall at home.

back countys the best...idr like the "powder pack" because no matter wut the actual terrain is, back country is always smoother and you can just make your own trail== more fun

Haven't done it yet myself. Just one more thing to look forward to next season.

i've never actually rode backcountry myself... but i def. wanna go with my friends next season. The only problem is that u get in tons of trouble if ur caught, which i really do NOT need...

back country is an awesome break from the crowded parks at the hill..powder kickers are even more fun..anyone that likes super deep powder and extreme backcountry should go to Mt. Bohemia in upper michigan..

yeah I think I like that idea. The problem is how do you determine who is a beginner and who is not?

It looks like it's more of a warning, as in ski/ride at your own risk... Somewhere, it even said, fooling around can get you killed. I certainly wouldn't attempt it yet.

thats the thing, alot of beginners try to learn to snowboard there...not good, but if you want to slide on your ass the whole way down or get buried, thats cool too..haha..theres like, one medium difficulty run, the rest are black diamond or double black diamond

i think that the threshhold between beginner and intermediate is when you know with complete confidence that if you wanted to, you could ride all the way down the mountain without a fall, or even a slip

snowboardnguy90

yea that's def. the diff between beginner nd intermediate... then the next step is being able to do mid-size jumps nd up to 360s w/o falling at all

i think you are correct. i am trying to break that threshold, but i havent yet. since i am ambidexdrious footed, i may attempt a 360 cab. some sat its easier if you dont really have a dominant foot

haha i so am NOT ambidextrous-footed (but i can kinda ride switch from 6 yrs experience) lol my bindings are rotated forward so much... it's almost like racing-style. So mostly i actually prefer 360s over 180s. But i'm getting there... lol i know i kinda suck for 6 yrs experience... but that's cuz the first few years i was still like 8 nd only went round 4 times a year

If you can get into Glacier Park bout this time of year there is some killer back country. Serious avalanche danger though. But it’s a good time.

Back country is awesome, great to be out in the solitude of nature, earning your turns.

Not much backcountry here in Oz, but enough to make the effort worthwhile.

Did a day back country mission at Whistler a few years ago, down the valley between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, to a little peak called Fissile. Bought some snowshoes and hiked out there solo. Awesome sustained 55 degree face, great fun.
