Ok obviously im down with all the snowboarding in the X games but since when did anyone ever ride a ****ing motorcycle off a jump in the snow and take themselves seriously. not to mention snowmobile racing is far from an extreme sport. its like nascar on snow. what happened to the cool **** like timed ice climbing? i dont think they even do big air anymorecuz of all the new gay sports. I mean Im not to fond of skiing but atleast freestyle skiing is extreme and a real sport. what ever im just sitting here watching the X Games and wondering what happened.

They've been doing that motorcyle shaz for like the last 4 years, and they got rid of big air about 3 years ago. It makes me sad.
The superpipe qualifiers were INSANE last night.
My predictions for tonight are: Kass, TRice, Anti Autti and Shaun White are going to rule.

I dont know its sick that snowboarders get to be on tv and snowboarding gets respect but i cant stand watching the x games it seems alittle cheesy its not authentic

yea your deff right, but i mean, how much snowboarding do you really see on tv, even with fuel, its still fun to watch, even though it is wierd. And I was pissed that they only showed one of Rice's runs, wtf is that about

Allright bigwheeler, all im sayin is that dirtbikes have nothing to do with winter extreme sports. its called a Dirtbike for a reason not a snow bike or a waterbike a dirtbike.

Yes it has officialy been ruined...they need to take out any motorized "extreme" sports. They don't fit...ie. snowmobiling and Dirtbikes.

ok but seriously though, the x games have been gay... for real. Just another attempt for corporate america to make a dollar off of "extreme" sports. Snowboarding is great and I love it but there are better contests out there for sure.

personally i think i x games are awesome! a mix of every extrem sport that you could watch indivually or all at once when watching the x games.Yeah they do have their lame parts but, overall I think that they are one of the best things ever.

i've been snowboarding for 12 years and god damnit its the best sport i've ever done. i live off it, but snow-x is SO much harder. think about hauling a 500+lb. machine around a 40 mph over jumps you would NEVER think of hitting. go try it and tell me its not an extreme sport.

I didnt notice it either.. but they should have freestyle snowmobiling and they should have kept the other cool stuff they had before. I mean they didnt show any roller blading or skateboard street during the summer X.

yeah,i hear ya.Actually alot of riders didn`t ride to their potential. The pipe wasn`t in the best condition. There was that big divet in the drop in that was throwing most of everybody off. That and the pipe was super icy.Even shawns winning run could`ve been more flawless. He really amazes me,it`s kool to see how one guy can push the sport in such positive way.I`m liking his bs 1080`s,the hardest trick to throw,in my opinion.

lol it realy annoyes me when there like "ok he is droping in goofy that means his right foot is forward" the announcers act like were dumb or sumptin its like they spell out what there doing the whole time and shaun should not have won the pipe comp that was so rigged. im tired of watching shaun win its gettin old, go Travis Rice

Well... I think the announcers realize that there are probably a lot of "new" riders or future riders watching that don't know all the lingo...
I think it's great for the sport by getting it out there... I'm sure Winter X had a lot to do with getting the sport into the Olympics. It gives the riders out there a chance to showcase themselves. It's unfortunate that the reputation of it being "fixed" or "favored" is getting larger. Whether or not it's true, is another discussion.
I mean... Isn't the US Open going to televised, too??? Does that mean the grand-daddy of all contests is going to be "rigged" for more ratings? If not... will it eventually? I guess we just gotta take it for what it's worth! It allows more people to enjoy it on television... It also allows the pros to make a living... Sh*t, I'd love to get PAID... I mean P-A-I-D to do what I enjoy, you know what I mean?

x games doesnt pay that well actually, not sure what the sponsor bonuses for placing are but i do kno that a girl i know came in fifth she only got 700 bucks, so not sure first is exactly a jackpot take. but if u place im sure sponsors show u some love

exactly.I think most of would love to get paid for riding.Anybody who says they wouldn`t,would be lying.X-games are the ****,i don`t care..The US open is televised,it just doesn`t get much coverage,at least not as much as the X..

The X-games just has to add more than skiing and snowboarding, and since they're the "X" games, the only things extreme enough they had to sorta make up. I mean, cross country skiing wouldn't be in the X-games. Wintercross is really lame to watch, I've never really been a big motocross fan anyway, but i guess i could see how people enjoy it. But yea, snowmobile racing is just a stupid concept.

everything in teh xgames is entertaining for at least 15 mins. then the dirtbiking and the snowmobiles get old. but skiing and snowboarding i could watch for the full 4 hrs or watever.

Yeah, I dont know if they are favored or not, but there were a couple of runs I saw that I think definately should have gotten higher scores then they did.

You see, the U.S. Open actually has a purpose though, it ranks the riders and sometimes is qualifying for other contests.
The x gaymes dont mean ****. You dont get anything from winning the x gaymes besides little money and a medal. Thy can rig the x gaymes and nothing will happen, with the U.S. Open if it was rigged other contests would have the same riders over and over
but skiing and snowboarding i could watch for the full 4 hrs or watever.
How? all the runs were the same, skiiers were all doing the switch 1080's except the one or two people who got basy for 1440's and switch dobule back flip
and dont get me started on snowboarding in the x gaymes. The runs are pretty much identical, start off with either a 1080 or a frontside air, go into the back to back 10's go for either a 9 or a 7, another 9 or 7, and end it out with another flip grab or spin.
Look i just described the entire pipe contest at the x gaymes to you!

Dirt bikes on winter x games seem out of place. I think most people familiarize dirt bikes as a summer sport. In my opinion, it just seems like they included it to add more competitions. I could understand that they are looking to grow as an organization but there are so many other real winter competitions that they could throw in, but they don't and that's what I don't get. For example, big air and rail jam. They are more appropriate then most of the other events on winter x games.

personally, i just don't care for any comp judged on technicality over style. who wants to see a buncha mindless 1080 robots do the same thing every run? cuz i sure don't.
