Anyone have any recommendations on purchasing one (brands they recommend, don't recommend, specs to look out for, etc.)? Joel and I have a 10 hour road trip coming up next week and my attention span is less than stellar, in fact, it sucks. I was thinking of buying a portable DVD player to keep me occupied.....for awhile at least.

Suggestions?

my friends and i were having a conversation about this last night. guy had the dvd players going in his car and wasn't paying attention and veered into our lane. of course it's dangerous for the drivers, but also for everyone else in the car. use your imaginations kids. people are getting ruined by stuff like this today.

My mom has a polaroid 7" screen one from best buy. Guy recommended it to us when she was hurt and in the hospital and the quality is great.

Never owned one before but I found a link on Cnet's site with reviews.
I ended up going with a Sony PSP, figure I can watch movies and play SSX (snowboarding game) :bounce:

I think some of the key features to look for are gonna be Screen Size and Battery Life.

yea if you are using it in the car, make sure you get headphones or something so you donr distract the driver. luckily ive got one built into my car! i have wireless headphones that came with it. but we can play it through the system

I bought a Toshiba one from Best Buy last year ( I can't remember the model). I believe it has a 7 or 9" screen. It works really well. I haven't used it in the car, though. It's mostly for airplane flights. I would recommend if you plan to use the dvd player outside of the car (like on planes), you invest in a portable battery pack. They range in price based on the # of hours charge you can get in each lithium battery. But it's nice to have a little backup for when you are in the middle of a movie and the power is drained on the dvd player battery.
