Yeah the lip isn't very big at all. But for road gaps, you don't want it to throw you upwards, you want it to throw you outwards over the gap, coming up short on that thing and casing it could put you in a wheel chair, so you better make sure you hit the landing. On this particular gap, you can't overshoot the landing because your landing is the natural grade of the mountain lol. In that first pic, look how high you would be over the people standing up on the road, he's atleast a good 25 feet above the road. The jump itself isn't really that huge as far as distance goes from the lip to the landing, but you're in the air for so long and it's all on the way down as opposed to like on a table where you're going up and then coming down all in the same distance (from lip to landing) but not nearly as high. I know the guys that were at the shoot and they're some REALLY good boarders (don't know the skiier, but I know he's a pro that spends most of his time at June Mountain) and they were all scared the first few times. I believe Scotty Vine, Tyler and Kyle Lopicollo, Cody Anker and few others were the riders that day.
