View Full Version : Nikita Outerwear!
So I was just flipping through my new Transworld and saw, much to my joy, that Nikita is coming out with a waterproof outerwear collection next year! I just thought I'd share, because I was just saying yesterday that they should really do this. Yay!

As long as it has good waterproofing and breathability (and is not just a fashion item)...otherwise, what's the point?

I would hope that would be the case, since their focus on making stuff that's functional (and cute) for girls who ride.

Well, I didn't see any specs on it, but I assume it'll be good quality. Nikita really takes pride in that sort of thing. I hope it is, because I'd like to have functional stuff that I can wear in both my snowboarding life and day to day life.

I'm ecstatic to hear that the rumor I heard is fact!
Nikitia rocks my world! If Nikita n Volcom merged - wow! I'd be the happiest kid ever!
Yeah, but if they merged, there would be one less cool company for women's clothes, and that would suck.

Yeah, I'd say I like them both around, more options for kickass stuff :)

ohhh but imagine the possibilities! haha, I'm kidding.. kinda. ;D
I've had this Nikita fleece for 3 yrs now - the warmest fleece I own, n damn does it hold up! My only gripe is that maybe 2 stores within 100 miles carry them.

yeah, I think their outerwear would be great quality, because everything I've had by them is so well made and holds up forever, even silly things like t-shirts.

T-Shirts are NOT silly things...

hahaha, sorry, I didn't mean it that way, t-shirts are very very serious fashion items.

awesome news..again heard a few rumours....now its reality. As you have all said I am sure it will be a good quality well thought out gear if the other gear is anything to go by. My Nikita stuff is still going strong and I have had it for a few years...!! Its maybe a really lame point but my Black n red hoodie has not faded a bit despite the amount of wear and washes it gets.
Long live Nikita!!

their website says the outerwear will have a range of 3,000-15,000 mm. also says that their outerwear collection will vary in terms of level of tech. it mentions removable powder skirts/hoods, storm flaps, handwarmer pockets, different liners, and pit zips as some of the features.
Here's the full story from the site, for those too lazy to go look :) :
After more then 5 years of creating street-wear exclusively, we at Nikita Clothing introduce technical outerwear for next Winter 0607; the newest addition to ourr women’s specific line of clothing.
“With our strong relationship to snowboarding the introduction of outerwear into our collection seems very natural and logical,” says Nikita Clothing’s owner and designer Heida Birgisdottir. “We have been snowboarding for more than 15 years in the harsh conditions of Iceland, so we are confident that we can create performance outerwear that meets and exceeds even the highest standards. After all, not only do we snowboard all of the time, but Nikita was born in our very own snowboard shop. ”
The first outerwear collection from Nikita includes 4 jackets and 3 pants, ranging from 3,000mm-15,000mm. All pieces will include varying levels of technical features including stormflaps, handwarmer pockets, waterproof zippers, removable powder skirts and hoods, Tricot and moisture wicking lining and pit-zips. As a standard feature all pieces will come equipped with fully taped seams and waterproof zippers. Jackets will have removable powder skirts. Of course, Nikita Outerwear is designed specifically For Girls Who Ride, by a girl who rides, so it’s all street legal as well.
“I wanted to create a line that would technically perform at all levels of snowboarding, but would still have all of the cuts, colors and details that make everything look far better then your average snowboarding fit,” adds Heida. “We worked hard to make sure our first collection meets function with style, head-on.” Stay tuned on our next Winter's collection and keep on riding!!

The stuff looks great, but I didn't see any specs of the outerwear on the website...
It's not out yet, so we're probably not going to see specific specs until late summer.
