Hawthorne Heights!!! They are possibly one of the worst bands on the face of the planet to me. They have absolutely no musical talent whatsoever. Listening to them makes me want to punch infants.
Also, All those dumb bands like Korn and Disturbed and stuff... I really don't like them either.

You clearly haven't listened to Waking the Fallen or Sounding the Seventh Trumpet because you don't get that good of a rep by being bad. They have some of the best guitarists I've heard in a long time you really can't say that.

what the hell happened to the simple days when punk was punk, rock was rock, metal was metal, rap, was rap, and country...well country has always sucked...but you get my drift...now we got emo, hard core, triphop, indie, goth, post hardcore, christain rock, death metal (as opposed to just metal) hip-hop, pop-punk, pop, and more and more...i mean holy ****...i feel old because i dont know what the hell half of these genres are supposed to sound like and why hard core is diff then hard rock, or what seperates pop-punk from emo....and im only 24...is there any hope for me?

what the hell happened to the simple days when punk was punk, rock was rock, metal was metal, rap, was rap, and country...well country has always sucked...but you get my drift...now we got emo, hard core, triphop, indie, goth, post hardcore, christain rock, death metal (as opposed to just metal) hip-hop, pop-punk, pop, and more and more...i mean holy ****...i feel old because i dont know what the hell half of these genres are supposed to sound like and why hard core is diff then hard rock, or what seperates pop-punk from emo....and im only 24...is there any hope for me?

certain types of music have just branched out and spawned cross-over generas of music. the oen genera to em that will always be the same is metal. to me metal is metal, no matter hwo you look at it. event hoguh they have classifications, liek industrial metal, black metal, thrash metal, speed metal, hair metal. metal is just metal; loud, fast, and a menace to society :D

at least you gave it a shot. well, pop punk, i dunno what i can say good about that. it's just not really punk at all if oyu ask me. punks don't give a **** about relationship issues. hardcore, depends on what kidn of hardcore we are talkgin abot here.hardcore music is actually a very diverse genera of music. might soudn liek the same garbage to some people, but the messages over weigh the sound. the basics woudl be liek old school and new school hardcore. 7Secodns woudl be old school, whiel Comeback Kid woudl be concidered new school. and another branch fo the new school would be the post-hardcore stuff that many people are gettign into these days, like Grade before they broke that off and became Silverstein ( i think 3 of the 4 members created Silverstein, can't remeber for sure though.) them all thsi emo crap is a very lame take on post-hardcore. and then both old and new school hardcore (the non "post" version) can have anything from political, to straight edge, to anarchaic hardcore. there is so muc mroe shti to list about it that it woudl pretty much have to have it's own dedicated sub-forum to be abel to list all of it wihtou me takign up too much space here

There's a book, if you're interested, called "American Hardcore" which contains a lot of interviews with early hands like 7 seconds, gorilla buscuits, and minor threat and information about the hardcore movement. There is a difference not only musically in hardcore, but also culturally. The book is pretty cool, it's interesting to hear what all of those people have to say.

lol, BoySetsFire would be political new wave. they are a great band, i love their stuff. but yeah, liek kelly said, there is a big cultural influence behind each genra. usually people associate straight edge wiht hardcore, but it has became sort of a generalization. liek me, peoel thnk i am straight edge because i say listen to hardcore, but bust their brains tryign to figure out why i drink. i've read American Hardcore as well, and it's a very insightful book. the face of the music changes so damn often that it's so har to keep up. i just grew up with it, so it's kinda liek a seciodn nature for me to know

id like to say some of you are naming some bands that arnt half bad, but thats your opinion. i saw some of you saying korn. i think the new korn sucks, their sellouts now, but theyre old stuff was pretty good. and i strongly agree with the people naming all the emo, hardcore, and screamo bands. theyre just trends and people only like them so people will think their cool or something. i dont know and personally i dont care. again i agree with the people that hate all the wanna bes like hilary duff and that shzt, and also, what about paris hilton? have you heard her new single? it made me want to curl up in a little ball and watch tony danza until i died. but anyway..

I don't really hate bands persay, I just hate specific songs, or what they stand for. So here is some stuff I hate.

1. whoever wrote "Laffy Taffy" or "Lean Back" or rappers who sing about money, bitches, and their cars and think I give a **** about what they got.
2. Country music that has a repetative background beat set to some guy literally talking with barely any rhyme.
3. Almost all reggea......**** annoys me when people say country is the same stuff, when all reggea sounds EXACTLY the same.
4. people who said screamo is bad are stupid because some of the bands have amazing musical and instrumental talent and they know how to put it together. two examples are underoath (they are also in the gospel category if you didn't know that), and fall of troy because their guitar playing is crazy

people who said emo is gay should rethink that beccause most of those bands have real sick songs and most of sound really good a couple examples are hawthorne heights, fall out boy, and Panic! At the Disco.

some of the rock bands that people have mentioned are also some of the most influential bands there are, such as Green Day, U2, and others.

there is also a lot of bands people haven't heard about and they really should check out. just watch fuse for awhile and you'll see.
