I did a search of the forums and came up dry so if Im repeating, feel free to point me in the right direction. So yeah, I just picked this game up today after a year and some of people telling me it was the bomb. So before I install and pick a server, do any of you guys play?

Say what thedude? lol
So yeah, Im all installed, but there's a couple problems:
A) Both of my parents won't work a deal with me to use their credit cards
B) I don't have a credit card
C) Im still deciding if the game is worth taking out a credit card
So far no because the website is very sluggish and I got many errors last night.

i lost a year of my life to Diablo 2...i stay away from anything mmorpg now.

pfft Diablo 2 isnt even a real mmorpg!
Stay away from MMORPGs. you've been warned!
WoW is just another spin off of Sony's Everquest craze. I played EQ for over 4 years, and I can say that without a doubt, I will never play another mmorpg again. They are just too life consuming, and quitting the game was the best thing I ever did. Most people who have quit playing them will tell you the same thing.

you know what always amused me? those people that write fanfic..the ROMANCE Fanfics.
I think they're called Slashies or something..
Slash is primarily homosexual fanfic.
And fanfic that deals with general relationship drama is usually just referred to as shipping.
I want to kill myself for knowing that.

looks like she is going to be deemed uncool for the summer and fall since she isn't riding anymore :D
I don't ever think I said I was cool in the first place. I know I'm not.
I read Harry Potter, and unfortunately, in my desire to talk to other people about it, I find myself on forums where I'm unfortunately subjected to conversations about fanfic. Sigh.

Nope and you shouldn't either. Casual play (people who have lives) generally sucks ass, and the people who go into it hardcore are just throwing their lives away. Take the advice of myself an ex-mmorpg player (including WoW Beta-Test), and several of my friends who've quit and find something better to do with your time.

Quoting this statement for truth. I being the former mmorpg player, and my buddy (soon to be roommate) being an up and coming full time stoner.

This is just screaming to me ex-mmorpg player. So c'mon Kelly, what game was your personal cocaine?

That makes something from the West Wing fansites I visit make so much sense now. Not that they are writing Fanfic stuff, but people who refer to themselves as Donna/Josh Shippers. I mean, I knew what they meant, but I never knew that Shipping was an actual term used widely in other communities for people who wanted certain characters to hook up.

Yeah... no... I don't even know what a mmorpg is, except I assume rpg is something like role playing game? I don't really play video games at all, unless you count the occasional solitaire hand.

Yeah... no... I don't even know what a mmorpg is,
I believe it stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game...
worlds of warcraft looks so cool. I would probably want to get it if I didn't have to pay $30/month plus initially buying the game. Right now, I'm working on Warcraft 3... pretty fun. ^_^

14.95/month and you can download the game on a free trial saving the $30 packaging fee more or less.
But i warn you its not worth it. It's the summer time go outside and get some color in your skin.

I tried the 10-day trial. It wasn't too bad. I noticed it was a bit cartoony, and didn't have a lot of depth to it though. I think I would have been a bit bored, except that I was playing with a friend of mine (did I mention he's a really hot friend?)
I don't mind playin MMORPGs, but I'm not the type to get addicted. I'm more than likely to get bored with a game than want to play it too much.
I don't think there is a problem with playing games, as long as that's what you keep it to. A game - not your life!

I love the Harry Potter books! Sarah gives me crap about it, says it is a kids book......lol
Love the movies too, what did you think of the last one......?
They're definitely not kids books once you get beyond the first two.
Anyway, I thought the last movie was good (I didn't run out and buy the special edition DVD on the day it was released or anything), although I'm not thrilled with the portrayal of Dumbledore. Not really sure what they're thinking there, but that's not what I had in mind when I read (and re-read, and re-read again) the books. I wish they hadn't cut out some of the stuff they did, but I think considering they only had 2.5 hours to play with, they did a respectable job. I wish they could get away with having longer movies, like LoTR. I mean, the source material is there.
I'm going to stop before I really get going on a Harry Potter tangent.

the cartoony thing was cinda on perpouse. had a descussion about that in my study class today. if you look at a lot of other mmorpg's and there reilistc, most of them have major problems. WoW doesent have nearly as many problems with it unlike EQ and EQ2
