Broke a lace on my new Sable boots. Really thin laces. Not the kind you can pick up anywhere. I called them and they are sending them for free.

Awesome, since you spent a ton on the boots I would expect them to send u new laces :)

My thoughts exactly. But in fairness, I did get them on sale. Last pair in the store. After trying like 10 pair on, which is tiring in itself... I saw those and said, if they're my size, I want them. They fit beautifully. And they are sooo loght.

ooo maybe they'll replace my Lexa binding then!! The top strap thingy keeps breaking off.. it's a bit of a pita. lol

BTW.. how do u like the lacing system on that boot? I have heel lift problems.. can u make em really tight?

Not only can you make them really tight, they come with inserts that velcro into the heel area, between the inner and outer boot, to lock your heel in place. Love 'em. And, yes, they are pricey, but I think they're more than worth it.

Just think about all the times you've sat there struggling with your laces. Hands freezing, hurting trying to tighten them. I don't have that anymore. I can tighten on the lift w/one hand.

That's really awesome.. I'm just very wary about those laces too.. especially if u broke 1 after not even a full season.

I only broke one because I was cutting it up with the edge of my brand new board. A little lace protection and I would have been fine.

Maybe I shoulda gone with those instead of the Sapphires.. we'll see next year.. or maybe the local shops still have a pair leftover in my size.. [ha who am I kiddin?]

OK, my first grumble about these Sables.... Yes, Burton sent me free laces... But they are a PITA to replace yourself. Doable, yes. Easy, no. To me, it's still worth it. But, if you're the kind who chops up laces w/your board, get a Bakoda Lace protector. (well.... in order to put the lace protector on, you have to undo the whole lacing system... PITA either way.)

If you cut your laces by resting your board on top of your free foot when on the chair, try holding the board by resting the heel loop part of your empty binding on the toe of your free foot.

You should have asked for multiple pairs in different colors that would be tight yo!!

I've heard a lot of good stories about Burton and a handful of bad ones.

I guess I should have my Burton jacket's zipper fixed. it won't move any more.
