I think most of the people on this site, or atleast the ones who post and respond to threads, are from the east coast of the US.
Shame! This is such a cool site...i feel some Europeans should be recruited onto here!

I think it's because most people are recruited from myspace, which I don't think has as many europeans... but there are a few europeans lurking around, and a few US kids who winter in the alps.

That's awesome... by chance could you also recruit some french and swiss people who have chalets in the alps and are just dying for some visitors?

Alright me old muckers!
Dude when i finish the whole electrician thing i wanna run away to the mountains for the season! how did you get into it? and you learnt languages? awesome.
Do tell more!
...yay...lets arrange a mass exodus from britain hehe!! If we pool our languages together we could get far! I speak near fluent German and have a weak grasp of Finnish tee hee

awesome sounds like a plan its always the more the merrier with boarding!
I know they say dress warm up there but is it full kegs and jacket or wot?
gloves and board pants obviously! But ive always been fine in a hoody and a beanie...i got a bit too warm last time in my board jacket...depends how much your planning to fall over...as obviously a hoody will soak through (i know this as i fall over alot!)

Saturday! It can be another day, I finish at 1 most days of the week!
Jingo
05-05-2006, 08:55 PM
that would b a saturday. were not as close as you guys. it takes bout hour and half for us. so we can only do weekends really. which sucks as i know they do events and specials in the week!
What prices do the dome do for like 3 hour sessions?
what is this "saturday" you speak of hehe. Yeah cant do saturdays.
i normally have sundays off...and then the wednesday or thursday. (theres always one who has to be difficult! hehe...sorry!)
Jingo
05-05-2006, 08:57 PM
WOW wot incredibly poor english! i meant:
How much is it for 3 hours ar the dome? i know it gets cheaper the longer your there for!
bear with me...i shall double check.................
youre looking at £22 an hr after 8pm and £15 before 615pm (they close the slope for "extreme tubing" between those hours! At the minute i think they are doing a buy one hour get your second free doo-da
Jingo
05-05-2006, 09:06 PM
ah cheers!
Lol this europe section of the forum is pretty much under the control of us 3!
OK well sundays are an option if its open! but we shall still hit the slopes on the 27th i expect.
Well...i think there are only 4 particularly active Brits on this site in total...its nice to be in control eh?! hehe
i am off to the dome on monday morning to get some practice in with my boyf when there arent many people around...
itd be fun to all hook up tho...as hardly any of my friends board...they all think im a bit odd for deciding to do it! Its only because my boyf is obsessed that i entertained the idea of giving it a whirl...and now i LOVE it!

Anyone who tries to actually board will love it! and if they dont then there just strange!
after 2 months off the board i am itching to get moving again!!
I'm from Austria, which is a part of Europe. So yeah... here I am.
Welcome! Sprechen sie deutsch oder?! You round us off to 5 people hehe.
Ive been looking into Kaprun and Zell am see for summer noarding...any good?
uh I'm afraid I can't tell. haven't been to Kaprun yet. Austria's got some nice spots for summer boarding. The Hintertux glacier e.g. is quite nice I heard...
(check out www . bergfex . com for details )
oh and JA ich spreche deutsch !
i demand that you go to go to Kaprun and report back to me hehe. I lived in Dusseldorf for a few years so know intermediate German...kinda cheated though as i went to an international school so didnt need much German to survive!
Its lovely to have a European on board!
haha! ffff.... I'd LOVE to go there (anywhere snowish to be honest!)
I'm from the east of Austria so ... NO glaciers around here. only smaller resorts (with nice backcountry though!). gosh ... I wish we'd have some snow now.
...is Kaprun quite far away from you? Its supposed to have pretty good summer boarding...my boyf and trying to go there at some point this summer
HA! Kaprun is like lightyears away!
I wish I would live closer to one of those glaciers...
I have about 6 more months to wait until the snow returns!
My cousin went to Kaprun a few times and loved it, I personally can't tell if it's really that good but I don't think she'd say she liked it if she wouldn't have liked it....
so do you have it on your doorstep november to april? Are you really close to the mountains? Im so jealous!
well... there are quite a few resorts around here and YES there's snow from november to april usually. the closest resort is about 30 mins away from my hometown (by car of course) !
there's good backcountry too (but you need to enjoy hiking if you're looking for the perfect powder out there because the lifts only take you to the slopes - as everywhere!!)
are you into your backcountry then? Im a complete noob...just finding my feet, only been boarding since feb...so havnt had chance to figure out what kind of rider i am yet
yeah one could say I'm into backcountry but I like the 'normal slopes' aswell. anything snowish hehe...
i just love snow and shred anywhere there's snow !
never been to a snowdome though. what's it like ... snowboarding with a roof on top ?
...its all i know at present! yet to go to a mountain...hopefully going to Kaprun in a month or so...i enjoy it...but my boyf gets bored very easily there are he is an intermediate rider. jump nights are apparently good (im not brave enough to try that yet!)

Ive managed to get two of my friends into boarding...im soooooo happy about it!

Wow not to many people here. I would have thought there'd be a lot more. I'm from the U.S. but live in northern Italy for 3 years and I'll be going back in about 8 months for at least another 3. All I have to say is that Austria has the best Boarding/Partying I've ever seen.
