I'm considering it in march - my brother wants to do a big trip with a bunch of our friends. Chamonix I think, or switzerland maybe.

Maybe Christmas/New Year in France - Luz St. Sauveur. Riding at Luz Ardiden (sp?). I'm bringing my own board this time, 'cause the rental gear sucks...

I have some extra holiday time coming up at the end of the years, and might spend most of the season in Chamonix (with some days at La Grave), or I might leave that til the year after and do the US (Kirkwood, Pebble Creek, Snowird/basin, Big Sky, Kicking Horse) as originally planned next year.
Where are you planning to ride in France

I've been to courcheval and val disere as well, but chamonix was the most memorable for me - it has some fun backcountry kinds of stuff, including the whole Mont Blanc glacier.
I'm sure if you end up over there for any period of time you'll improve your board skills just fine! consistency of practice is what really does it, even if you're super uncoordinated like myself.

Nah, Tignes has some of the best off piste and best backcountry you will ever find!
Come there, and I'll show you a good time.
Need a shovel though, big booters and pow landings!

if there's pow, I don't think I'd be bothering to shovel ;)

Tsch... Theres nothing like making a huge booter, trying something ridiculous and be semi assured of a "safe" (ahem) landing!
I know what you mean though. But if you were really serious, you'd need a shovel.
Along with your probe and transciever...

oh yeah, I have the gear, I'd carry a shovel, but I wouldn't be wasting time shovelling when there was pow to shred unless it was really necessary (ie. avvy troubles)

just ripping on ya... ha ha!
Having blasted down most couloirs in Tignes, not much off piste could really jiggle my tingleberries that much anymore...
If theres pow, I'll scout for a new spot and hit that up.
Each to their own I spose!

Hey Jingo well im doing it through a person called Steve at www.powderdays.co.uk and me and my friends are renting a chalet off him. Im not working over there as i have enough money saved n my rents have me covered too :tongue1: but its quite easy to get a job over there as a seasonire in a bar or in the local area as loadsa ppl are seasonaires! Basically you just need to find a place to stay a way of gettin over there and sortin out your season lift pass! If uve got ne questions jus drop me a line!
