What was your very first snowboard that you had, what year did you start, and for ****s and giggles - name all the boards you've ever owned.

first board: Burton Sarari Comp II 145--had a fork tail and couldn't ride switch; pretty sure it was late 80's board

second board: K2 fat bob 151, early 90's ?

i can't remember dates but after the Bob i had a Gnu 175cm wood core, a rossi 163, Nitro 165, and then back to Burton 163--the Canyon from two years ago. I still ride the Nitro 165 (magnum) and the Canyon 163.

i started in 1999, i had a liquid board, then i had a burton, and now i have my baby... a burton troop i got last winter. best set up i've ever had. the bindings, boots, and board are amazing for me, i love it. i honestly don't know the details to the other two i named.

ok, first board was called a "late model b" it was a burton custom that was put out in like february of 93 as a test for teh 93/94 burton line. It was a great ride, and is currently hanging on my wall as a shelf for my stereo

i got my first board in 97. i got a package deal from Big5. its a Vision Millennium. i changed out the boots and bindings, but i'm actually still riding it.
i'm cheap, thats why i never got a new one, but i think its about time that i do... any suggestions?

First board was a hand-me down Sims 160 (had a flat back to it). Yeah it was old.
Then I upgraded to a Ride Timeless in my third season and have been riding that eversince. It's still in great shape!

Burton Custom '98 - 55"

i was 14 or 15 when I got it I think. Way too big for me. Bad advice from Stip at Underground Snowboards in Breckenridge, CO. But it was a sweet board. I gave it to my brother when I was about 17 or 18, and that's what he rides now.

Current Board: Burton Feelgood. 2000? I forget. 47".It is my baby. It has little space ships for graphics and is white on top. Gorgeous.

I started riding in 99, I think. My first board was some piece of **** that I still don't know the brand of. One of my guy friends gave it to me. It was heavy, had zero flex, and had perhaps the ****tiest bindings known to man. It's amazing that I stuck with it. Then I picked up a Joyride Zen Arcade 148, which was a great board, and really didn't quit until last year.

I'm psyched for this year's set up though, it's going to be sweet.

started on rentals becaue my folks wouldn't let me own one, they figured it woudl be cheaper. then three years ago i got my first board, a Santa Cruz B-Line 155. it was my cousins, and he used it only once and then left for the navy, and my aunt just wantd it out of the house. now the thing finally died and i'm looking into a new board for this year. i had my mind set on a Capita Unorthidox, but now i'm lookgin into others just sto see what else is out there.

my 2nd board was a 1997 Lamar Hetzel Lite (Ive only seen one other person with this board Ever!) with some better but still cheap lamar bindings and Vans boots.

Noahzmel, they rode nice back in the day when bert lamar still owned the company (now he has started Elevation. It's ironic how I have gone form an old Lamar to a new elevation but i love it). My old one was nice, pretty flexy but not too much at the time. They seem to be much more cheaply made now days down there with 5150, liquid, and other brands. I love my elevation now though, bert has done a great job with that company so far.

My friends talked me into buying a board and this season they sell theirs and tell me that they can't go anymore cause of college.
does anyone here go by themselves or am I the only one that feels its just not as fun with out anyone else?

My first board is a Lamar Diablo 157 I then bought a Lamar Cruiser 149 becuase it was 75% off end of season and I thought a short board would be easier to learn spins and such. I now have a Forum Destroyer 159 with sweet Drake LTD bindings and love the thing!!! Still have all my boards....I agressively de-tuned the Cruiser for learning rails...I use the Diablo when it`s gooy wet slop with rocks and dirt and crud...keep my Destoyer waxed for cold snow and keep it`s base pristine by only riding on good deep snow with no rocks. I started snowboarding last January in Arizona...of all places....now I ride Mt. Hood 2 -3 days every week....Meadows and Timberline are sick...just became an instructor at Meadows....hell yes!!!!!

I go all the time solo...my wife HATES snow in all it`s forms.....my buds mostly have weekends off and I have week days off....My MP3 player is all the company I need...though I almost always make friends on the hill, on the lift or in the bar to go ride with for awhile....I even ride with cool skiers.....even swapped gear for a run with a guy on skis......we both looked like flailing noobs then! It was pretty hillarious and we each had new found respect for each other`s sport!! Having fun is an internal thing...you don`t need anyone but yourself to have fun........now go forth and shred grasshopper......LOL

In 1995 I started with a Nale 152 (not sure what model but it was a green board and they're made by Elan).

In 1996 I bought a Scott 154 (Not sure what model...Scott tried making snowboards that year and they sucked...it delammed after a couple rides).

I started ridin in 2nd grade...whcih i believe is '96. I rented for a year, then got a board that said "wicked" on it, and i put a bunch of stickers on it. After that I bought an MLY molly which was good for a couple of years, then moved onto a morrow truth, back when morrow was sick. I outgrew the truth over the summer, then bought a rossignol of some sort. After that I ended up with the lib tech dark series i have now.

actually, its cuz I ride at least 100 days a year...and for some reason most boards dont last that long, and last year I broke like 5 snowboards...Also though when I buy boards theyre usually like 40% off so I get pretty good deals...

i learnt when i was 16 in 1999 in hard boots no idea what the board was, then didnt snowboard again till i was 18 on a borrowed gnu, my first board was a nitro shadow 155 with drake mtx in 2002 its still soo sick to ride in park or the ice, now i use an atomic raptue 159 with flow nxt at. which i also love in pow

1993- Nitro freeride 155. it was blue and heavy. i also got a Morrow Spoon 153 from 1991 (the copper one) with Morrow baseless bindings!
after that i can't even begin to list all of my decks...it gets kinda hazy!

first board i ever purchased and actually rode for a "season" was a burton punch 142, that was is 99 i think...then in 01 i picked up a forum peter line board 00 model again in a 142...then last season 05-06 picked up m3 discord 149...and then just recently for the end of this season 06-07 an atomic hatchet...:mrgreen:

my first board was an ignition no idea on the model or year
then i had a crazy creek
then a board that had a huge PL on the top sheet
then a 2005 arbor crossbow
now a 2007 flow quantum.

Started in 2001? Can't remember.
I started off w/ a Lamar something or other, rode that for 2 seasons.
Then got a Volkl Wall Pro, rode that for 2 seasons and broke it on a rail.
Currently riding a Neversummer System. Fantastic board.

First board was a Corporate...i forget the length but it was WAY too short...I started riding goofy and am a regular rider...probably why I did so terrible in the lessons...cant remember the bindings either but the board was blue with 2 thick grey lines up the middle and a little capital C in a suit smoking a cigar...started riding in 98...well actually 97...but it was on one of those hard plastic fake-boards you can buy at Wal Mart...i remember I thought I was king of the castle...haha
