I am a big fan of British Comedy...some of my favorites are:

Bean
Are You Being Served
Keeping Up Appearences
Thin Blue Line
The Young Ones
Red-Green
Black Adder
Doctor Who.....not exactly comedy, but funny as hell
Johnny English

What do you all think of British humor and what are your favorite shows.

Coupling (and I mean the original Bristish version) was probably one of the funniest sit-coms to ever air on TV. Get the DVDs if you can. Worth every penny!

i liek holy grail, but i just feel like that is played out these days. Meaning of Life and Life of Brian were ****ign hilarious. Meaning of Life is still my favorite Python movie. and the tv shwo is insane, with skits like Minestry of Silly Walks. "forgive my tradiness, but it seems my silly walk has gotten sillier in the past week." and the ever calssic Spanish Inquisition.
"nobody expects the spanish inqusition! our main weapon is suprise!"
"and alarm..."
"yes, and alarm"
"and torture"
"damn it! now we got to do it again! the suprise is ruined!"
"well, you coudl leave the room, come back, and we'll pretend to be surised"
"alright, that'll work"

I remember liking Good Neighbors, about the couple that gave up their jobs to live off the land. Faulty towers, too. But these are all pretty old, and I haven't seen anything lately.

I've always been a fan of Dr. Who, but that's not comedy!:-) Wish I could see the new episodes, but I can't even find them on DVD yet.

Who`s your favorite Dcotor? For me its Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker....I think the lines are very funny so in a way it is like comedy....especially Tom Baker!

No, I have`nt heard of those guys at all....usually the local PBS station airs Doctor Who, but lately they arent on even that....we can find a few DVD at the media shops but never full collections....I would love the entire Pertwee and Baker series on DVD!

british comedy is the best, because it's witty and creative. it's like they don't hold back like some american comedies try to do, as not to offend some and bore others. i belive british comedy is a more sophistacated comedy that takes a little more thinking than just a bunch of vulgarities and a "your mom" joke. Monty Python kicks ass. and i've probably seen others on tv. is Uptight Citizen's Brigade a bristish one?

I love the sarcasm, cynicism and dark humour of british comedy!

Every one HAS to watch a British TV series called "spaced"...the idea for shaun of the dead came from one of the episodes of spaced.

Shaun of the dead has the same director and all the cast of spaced too...its liek my bible! And for the height of messed up, dark british humour...check out a series called "Jam" and another called "Brasseye" By a genius called chris morris (warning...Chris morris is one messed up little puppy!)

I adore "Alan partridge" too it really splits my sides

You would be surprised hehe!!! But the "am i bovvered" Girl (Vicky) is a carbon copy of most British teenage girls these days! It makes me very sad!

Some of Little Britain is too funny, that fat girl is awesome (is that Vicky), and the young homo guy that lives with his parents.

Ali G is good.

Fawlty Towers is just legendary, John Cleese is fu cking funny as, some of the Monty Python's are classics as well, Holy Grail/Life of Brian/etc.

Being originally a British colony our public TV station shows a lot of British shows, and growing up there was only 2 stations to watch.

Some shows I liked when I was a kid...The Young Ones, The Goodies, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Kenny Everett Television/Video Show, Not The Nine O'Clock News, Love Thy Neighbour, Are You Being Served, Some Mothers Do Ave Em, Porridge/Going Straight, Open All Hours, The Good Life, The Benny Hill Show, Dad's Army, Steptoe and Son, Man About The House.
