Ok so charmonix is good as Les Deux Alps.
But if you want cheap but still and awesome holiday you should visit Bansko in Bulgaria i had and awesome week this yr. also had a good week in borovets in bulgaria but Bansko was the nuts!
So Bansko will be my haunt next season any euro riders (or american if u can drag yourselves away from perfectly groomed slopes :P) who want to hook up for a couple of weeks of fun and frolics drop me a message! Cheers!
p.s. trust me its cheaper!
What sort of time will you be going?! I have to take holiday in october (i work in retail...ick) so will be wanting to go boarding for a weeks or so then...have no idea where yet though...so bulgaria may be as good as any!
Im a newb only been noarding since feb so am DESPERATE to get on real snow...will seem odd to board somehwere without a roof!

Dude, when were you in Bansko? I was there 17th-25th March this year, had an absolute blast! Bansko is indeed the nuts! Slope conditions/facilities were excellent and it's cheap as chips. Seriously considering at least one trip back next season, maybe two if the financials pan out.

Dude like music to my ears hearing there are other fans of bansko!
wow just missed you! we were there the start of march!
which hotel were u at? we were at katarino and for once in bulgaria the food was actually nice! did u find the bulgarians were mainly rude? but it just added to there charm! we loved em!
Yeh deffinately wanna hit the slopes of bansko again next season! so keep me posted of your planned trips could be a blast!
all we need is himjim in this convo now and then all the four brits are conversing in their personal little Europe section. Whats Bulgaria like for prices? And is it quite a busy place? I was reading about Bulgaria and it said that its relatively undiscovered at the minute.

Yeh get himjim in here for a good old knees up :P
Hmmm...intriguing! Have just been checking out austria a place called the kitzsteinhorn glacier...where there is apparently all yr round snow and is quite cheap...may be able to go around june...sweeeeet:yo:

The man speaks the truth! Was fairly quiet while I was there, I think the longest lift queue I waited in was 8 people and that was for a four man chair... They are building a truckload of new hotels, so it may be a bit busier next season, but shouldn't be that bad. I stayed at the Mont Blanc apartments, which were totally plush considering how little we paid for them!
We did the whole trip for about £500 each, flights, accom, food, booze (and I'm a Scot, so there was plenty of that), equipment hire, and passes.
And we found a joint with beer for 1 Bulgarian lev, which is the grand total of 35p! The Bulgarians are a bit grim, but they're not too bad once you get talking to them. I'm not including the Amnesia bouncers in that statement though, dudes were rough...

Haha they were quite grim werent they! i had been to borovets that season too and they werer really friendly! so i was surprised when we hit bansko and they were total monkeys! but yeh very entertaining!
We never went to the infamous amnesia we got fliers and stuff but just never got round to it!
Good to hear the foods a bit better in Bansko, went to Borovets in 99' and the food was ****e. Aiming to give Bansko a blast next year after hearing so many good things about it.

That's funny because my mom is from Bulgaria and the food really is pretty bad. I serisouly can't stand some of the food she cooks. I've been to Bulgaria a few times but I never thought about snowboarding there. I'm definitely going to look into it.

Yo dude! as resident bulgaria expert i have these things to say.....Borovets has a limited selection of runs, with a giant ski road cutting across them all. one gondola and 2 chair lifts service the place. the boarding is fun though, watch out for the fruitties though (Skiers) as there are hundreds of the blighters! The nightlife of borovets is far better than bansko and pamporovo and is all within staggering distance of the hotels. plus theres loads of fake gear to buy!
Overall though, Bansko is far better, Trust me!
Have fun Dude!
