Hello Possums!
Ok so my dislocated AC joint from my last trip is ok now, going back to work on monday after 2 months :P haha.
I was just wondering if anyone out there with a similar injury has gone down hard on it and really stuffed themself up again? as im still unsure how my shoulder is going to cope with the falls?
Cheers for any input!

OK i dunno whether he gave u a one to five scale but mine did.
he gave it a 3 thus being in the middle of the scale. 1 and 2 being mild separation and 4 and 5 being massive separation requiring the pinning operation.
HOpe you got something to add to that?

i had a two on a 1-3 scale...ice the **** out of it...use some aleve or anything with naproxen in it will help to keep the swelling down..the only way it will heal is if its not swollen...the best thing is to freeze water in dixie cups and then just peel some of the paper back and rub the ice on the ac joint for 3-5 minutes...its much more effective than using a bag..and it takes less time...physicial therapy helps too

ice is where its at dude...if your hurt just ice the s h i t out of it..itll help most everything heal faster...plus rubbing ice on yourself is fun..or you could get someone else to do it for you..which may be even more fun

I blew out both my shoulders to the point that I can pop it out if I move it wrong. It definately changes your style of riding. I ride in different positions than previously and I'm always apprehensive about any jumps and rails. I've had this Injury for nearly 7 seasons now and the only thing I found that helps it is building the muscle back up.
I went to a specialist about it and he only gave me a 20 percent chance of it ever healing right with pins and a 90 percent chance of it being injured worse if they fixed it and I kept boarding. I've since opted for popping pain killers and rehabing it in the off season.
