soo my computer was just fixed and they had to delete everything including my music. i didn't back up any of the music so i can't get it back from itunes or anything.. but it's all on my ipod.
is there any way i can transfer the music on my ipod to my computer?
i looked all over the apple website and then i called apple and they demand $49 to answer a question so does anybody on here know before i have to pay for a question to be answered?
please help me.. i want my music back!

I just went through the same thing. I have a PC but it doesnt matter for this... simply put, the answer is no (you can't transfer from an iPod to your computer).
I had to reinstall windows and I also have an iPod, the only way for me to get my iTunes up and running like before is to sit here and put in over 300 CD's until it's back up. For my legal downloads from iTunes, I burned them to disc first, so I don't have that issue to deal with, but I'm sure there will be some way for you to access your iTunes account to see what you have already downloaded (as long as they were legal downloads, naturally). Hopefully they don't charge you 49 bucks for that - it would be pretty ****ty.
Try calling Apple and tell them that you had to reinstall your Operating System and you didn't make backups. They should answer that question for free. I bought the 49 dollar insurance thing whatever for my iPod and it's pretty much just used for warranties - when I had simple questions, they answered them on the phone without asking about the "Apple Care". (although I'm glad I bought it because my iPod died on my twice! so they replaced it for free with no questions asked. - same for 3 other of my friends!!)

Search google, there are TONS of programs that can upload songs from ipod back to computer. some you might have to pay like 5-10 bucks for, others are free. Good luck!

it IS possible actually...sometimes.
all you have to do is click on the ipod icon deal from the desktop and open that folder thing up, and look for a folder that says library. click on that, and hopefully a bunch of files will show up with .mp3 or .m4p or whatever at the end....a.k.a. your songs. if they are there, you can just grab the whole library folder and drag it into the itunes icon and it will add all the songs. not too hard, but like i said they might not be there. i hope they are...good luck.

yeah, unfortunately there's that little notice on your itunes that says to make sure and back up all your downloaded music...
however, icecoastchick is right.. look for the shareware.
