i have this great idea (if it hasn't already been done) to make cosmetics designed for female athletes. you know like sweatproof, waterproof and with an spf, and to be inexpensive so we can spend our money on our sports. what do you think? if this existed would you buy it?

I wouldn't buy it because I don't wear makeup when I'm doing any of my activities...

Don't they already have waterproof/spf makeup? Why would you wear makeup anyway...sports are about just that: the sport..not how you look doing it.

umm yeah personally i don't wear makeup when i'm doing sports, but some girls do, if not to look good, then for the extra spf protection.
i dunno i thought it was an ingenious idea.

I could see there possibly being a market for this... I've noticed plenty of girls reapplying makeup in the bathrooms when I stop to pee.
Not me though, I can hardly manage to wear makeup when I'm going out, much less for snowboarding...

Well, I guess for the purpose of making a profit, it is an ingenious idea b/c there are a lot of girls who can't live without their makeup on.
Yeah, I know a few girls who spend a lot of time putting on eye makeup before they go riding which strikes me as funny since, you know....goggles.
But anyway, I probably wouldn't buy makeup aimed at doing sports because I'm already pretty committed to the brands I use. I can imagine that others would probably be into it though.

I have to say I hardly ever wear makeup, just sometimes when I go out at night, but never for riding. But I do wear suncreen, I hate getting burned.
But...I would imagine there is a market for this, as there are plenty of girls that do wear makeup every day whether they are going to work, gym, snowboarding or whatever.

I'm an avid makeup wearer, yet when I go to the slopes I always apply it minimally. This is because the only kind of waterproof makeup I can find is usually just mascara. There are some eyeliners that claim to be waterproof as well, but I've found that to be completely bogus.
I'd def buy GOOD QUALITY makeup that was designed for female athletes. Eye shadow, conceiler, foundation, whatever. It sounds like a really $weet idea ;)

that sounds like a really good idea. I've seen a few girls with runny mascara and such while boarding, and there are probably lots of women who like to be fashionable at the gym.
However, as for me, it has to be a pretty big occasion for me to put on the slightest amount of makeup... so I don't even bother while doing sports... I'm tomboyish like that!

uhh i pretty much never wear makeup (and i'm serious when i say never)...i think i've worn it like 3 times when i had to get dressed up for things and my sister put it on for me haha. soo obviously i find it ridiculous when people wear makeup while playing sports, and it sounds like a waste to wear it snowboarding because nobody ever looks that good when they're snowboarding anyway, so whatever. the people who wear makeup while wearing sports are the ones who care more about looking good than the sport, and thus aren't very sporty to begin with, and thus wouldn't buy sport specific makeup. at least that sounds logical to me, but i always get contradicted so whatever.

How about a nose-plug device so our frikken noses don't drip while trying to look all pretty out there on the slopes? ;)

yeah well i'm about to contradict you again.... for instance my friend who rips extremely hard on the slopes is practically albino with super sensitive skin, so on top of her spf 50 she wears makeup for added protection against sunburn, windburn, creeping crud, etc. so booyah.

I wear makeup everyday....even if its just a little cover up to fix the uneven color...i do wear it while playing sports ....i do wear it while snowboarding.. but i do not care more about looking good then the sport... i'm a very contradicting person. For example...i care about the way i look..but i'll go days without showering, or i can easily bathe in a creek! haha...i don't have sex, and don't care much about having a bf...but would like birth control to hopefully make my boobs bigger....????I don't get myself very much either.
My point is....a girl can WANT to look good, but be into snowboarding just as much as the next girl that could give a **** less about her appearance. Of course there is a difference between a girl that snowboards, and one that won't because she doesn't wanna scar up her beautiful face, or body....i have millions of scars all over my knees, and once smashed my face so hard..i looked liek i had down syndrome on one side of my face..and it was scabbed from my eye to my chin.....but i still like to look good....
I would buy make up aimed towards female athletes.

I wear make up when I ride, not like I put it on before I go but I work during the day and I go straight to the hill when I get off, and I would totally buy it if it had some SPF in it.
I guess its peoples choice if they want to wear make up when they ride....the only thing that cracks me up is the girls who cake it on, the funniest was some girls learning to ride screaming, bitching with there guy friends one of them fell right where you strap in and her face left a make up mark in the snow, i couldnt help but laugh

lol sammyrae that would make me laugh too. BurtonBabe, I've got uneven colour too (rosacea ... it looks like I'm blushing or sunburned 24/7) that I have to fix with cover up and foundation. I think if I didn't have rosacea I wouldn't bother so often with makeup. It would all depend on my mood as I woke up that morning. Unfortunately I don't have that luxury as I'd probably scare people if I didn't even out my skin lol.

I'm fairly positive you're exagerating on that one, dear. :)

I sunburn really easily, so I always wear SPF face lotion and whatever SPF makeup I can find, especially when riding. Personally, I would be stoked on some sports-specific makeup, so it wouldn't wear off and make me look like a fool while riding, or leave that flesh-colored mark on the forehead of my beanie...
I think it's a great idea.

I use this stuff made by Shiseido. It's like foundation, but water, sweat, and transfer resistant. It has a high SPF but doesn't feel super heavy like alot of facial sunblocks. And instead of breaking you out it's actually very good for your skin. I use it snowboarding and surfing. It's good stuff. They have a whole line if you want it, but I just use the face stick.
Added Plus: I can "camouflage" my dark under eye circles while protecting my skin.

As long as they wore it them selves, instead of just putting there name on it. I wear makeup all the time. Its just part of me makes me feel femanine. I dont see anything wrong with that on or off the slopes. I do wear mascara, cover up tinted moisteriser and sun block. It would be nice to have something the prevented gogg burn , and some serious water proof liner or mascara.

It would be nice to have something the prevented gogg burn.... The stuff I use doesn't burn your eyes. That's another reason I use it. When I'm in the water, face sunblock would run into my eyes and burn so bad. This stuff doesn't burn, it's like a miracle.

i think its a good idea but me personally i dont really wear makeup n i just think its dumb to put the stuff on when ur gunna get all sweaty n stuff ne way
i think there is a market for it...for me....when i was snowboarding when i was off the slopes to get a quick hot chocolate or in a gondola on my way to the top...goggles off...hair frizzing manically out the side...if a hot snow boy starting talking to me i felt like crap because what little make up id tried to put on was alllll over my face by that point!!! id love an eyeliner that would stay put...and a blusher with an spf(of 50 cos im english lol)...does a blusher with spf exist!?
Oh god im such a girl lol!

It's sounds like a good idea, I don't know exactly If I would end up using it. I personaly only wear consealer and bronzer when I go boarding because they both have an spf of 20. But mascara or eyeliner? No way, there is no point. Whether you wear makeup or not, (im making a generalization from what ive seen) you are going to look like CRAP after you snowboard. You sweat and get gross. It's expected.

I use Physicians Formula solar powder bronzer. It has an spf 20.
I shall check that out.
I did actually manage to keep most of my makeup in place last board holiday lol...i have the problem of being so pale i look dead without blusher and mascara...i dont cake it on with a trowel or anything though:lol: !

I found the BEST eyeliner ever that actually stays on. It's called Fluidline by Mac.
In order to apply it one must use a fine brush and getting it off requires quite the eye-makeup remover. However I spent the whole day riding and it didn't smear or anything and totally stayed put. It also comes in a bunch of colors.

yeh id say theres def a market for it i might use it if im at something which would require makeup during the day and going boarding straight after but apart from that... i dont even really wear makeup going out... but it IS a good idea
