Thanks for posting.....too many stories like this and recently the masacre in Haditha are showing us that things are terribly wrong over there. Some of our soldiers are loosing it...the stress is too great and the funding for VA is being cut by this administration...already returning vets are killing their wives and are totally screwed up. These hypocryts with their stupid plastic "I support the Troops" ribbons who still won`t stand up against this war but have`nt sacrificed a thing in their own lives make me sick.

A couple more stories that back up what you are saying as well......we are so f*cked....we have`nt begun to experience terrorism...wait till all these kids grow up hating the west for all the suffering in their lives!

First, you need to go to a site that is not politically biased.

Next, you need to cite your information. This individual has no military record what so ever. Therefore he is another one of the political media tools used to press agendas and prose angest.

There have been many stories like this one... the last recent one i've heard was from another person who said he is crazy now because of the war, and bla bla bla... That individual never stepped foot in Iraq or out of this country for that matter. Because he spent his entire 6 years in the Army behind bars in the brig. So one can only speculate why he had such horrible stories for the press. He was brought up on drug charges and assult to a minor. So an UPSTANDING citizen.

I can personally assure you that these stories you hear, are just that. Yes there are some screwed up things that happen / have happened. But if you think this political prose is what happens everyday then you need to stop watching TV. The greatest thing about the media today is that if you search hard enough, you can find ANYONE that will agree to ANYTHING and have "proof".

Okay, I take your point and will say there is merrit to it. I do not watch TV however other than to watch Cspan of live Senate and House debates. I don`t trust the corporate controlled media to report the truth. As far as citing sources, I am just an average joe with an opinion and everyone knows that. I posted a link or a story because I found it revelant to the discussion...it is up to each individual to make their own mind up. Also, you cannot deny that VA funding has been drstically cut and that veterans returning home are in need of physical as well as emotional and psychological care and that their needs are not going to be met. Agree or disagree with the war policy it is the responsibility of the nation and it`s government to see to the needs of these guys who have sacrificed so much...sometimes everything.

My point in adding to the discussion is that through incompetent leadership, things are begining to fall apart (Abbu Graihb, Gitmo, Haditha, etc) and the honorable way we as American soldiers (yes I served too) have conducted ourselves throughout history seems to be eroding. I think it is a clear warning signal that we need new leadership to guide and conduct affairs in Iraq and we need it now.

I respect you a lot for your service and your point of view as well as your experiences which I cannot possibly fully apreciate....open discussion like this is good for all Americans...it is so easy to form strong opinions based on incomplete data....I take your points well here :)

we gotta think first that nothing is evil or good, everything is on the eye of the beholder from a basic point of view. I mean we know playing soccer with heads is wrong because we have been thought so, but if come to think about it is just ideologies.

What may be wrong for one person, can be completely acceptable for another so there is not good or evil, ther is no right or wrong, there has never been

If we go by that thought process, then you're idea of "there is no right or wrong" is simply your point of view and opinion. Which means for you right and wrong doesn't exist, but since others see differently then it is completely real because of their different point of view? It totally contradicts itself if take your thought process (in quotations) and follow it through (what I've just written) and add it together. It's like the sentance: I always lie.

It just doesn't work.

ok mi amor pille pues...

humans have a set of moral values passed to us from our parents, teachers, older siblings... etc. You could have been thought that going to the army is wrong, that is part of your moral values there is nothing wrong with that.

Now imagine one of those little childs in an extremist group, his parents believe that killing a person for a given reason is right and they teach this kid that since he was little, he grew up believing this moral set of values so for him killing a person for a that given reason is completely acceptable even though the entire world does not think the same way.

you may want to see this, just watch those videos and take them as another respectable point of view. The more options you have the better the chance of getting to an ideology that suits you which after all is one of every person's personal goal, no one likes to be confused. Again I'm not asking you to belive everything on those videos but just listen to the opinions.

Now we are talking abnout a child there, let's shift the focus to adult grown men which were the ones in the scene. A LOT of things can change people's minds is only natural for human beings to feel curiosity and change their ideas accordingly. A LOT of things can change people's minds one of those things is war, you'll be surprised about the consequences in a soldier's mind after they go to war. War from any point of view is a changing experience, some people get a good change and some people a not so good change. I see that story as an exageration but is plausible given the circumstances.
