I think I've said this before, but my favorite date is the snowboarding date. In fact, the last guy I dated, I ended up finally getting together with because we went boarding and him in his gear suddenly made him a whole lot hotter than he'd been before. I'm not a fan of the body style. But even still...my next car will be a Prius (maybe the Camry Hybrid if it's out at that point). But only becuase I'm tired of my Toyota Camry that now costs 40 ****ing dollars to fill up it's little 16 gallon tank.

So, my car is being replaced by a Prius. Husbands POS Jeep will be replaced by a Toyota Highlander Hybrid. And we'll no longer have to waste money on gas.

you still will, but not as much. the motor will run off a batterypack after it has accelerated up tp speed, and will shut itself off at lights. basically all the hybrids do it cut down on the parst wheer gas is used heavily or wasted, like the sittign at lights and accelerating. i remeber seeign somethig in the paper about ford sayiogn half of their car lien will be hybrids by 2010, but i think they are totally bull****ting. but if they are for real, then hot damn...

they are not totally doign away with regular auto's. i mean, could you ever picture a ferarri wiht a 350volt batery pack? or a corvette with a battery packin place of the trunk? it's mroe of a comuter car sort of thing, and personally i haven' seen anybpdy take there SUV's off road, they all drive them arodun teh suburbs with those ****ign spinners on them that i hate.

and they will still have a regular engine in it, just everythign will be hooked up and wired up differently. so if you know what oyu are doing, you could still make a hybird a fast mofo. it would just be an economical mofo, lol

do you realize you just told her not to get a hybrid because it takes too long to charge the batteries? the whole point of getting a hybrid is because it has similar benefits to electric without having to charge any batteries since they're charged by the engine. But your dads a mechanic so I'm sure you totally knew that. This reminds me of the scene in Fast Times At Ridgemont High when Sean Penn crashes the dudes brothers car and then says, "my dad's a tv repairman, he's got an excellent set of tools, I can fix it." Maybe I didn't quote it exactly but it was along those lines. Kelly, with gas prices nowadays and pollution the way it is, I totally say if you can afford a hybrid car and it fits into your needs, GO FOR IT!!!

sounds like you've been hearing some bad information and you're perpetuating those MYTHS via posting about something that you're totally unfamiliar with. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just pointing out that you're giving false information which might be taken into account when someone is seriously thinking about a major purchase. If anyone is interested in purchasing a hybrid, I highly suggest you go to forums for the Toyota Prius and find out directly from the people who have the cars to find out what their impressions are. believing information from people who've heard 2nd and 3rd hand from people that don't own one is completely a waste of time and will only lead to misinformation. if oyu kills those batteries, you msut have parked your car for a week straight and left the lgihts on, plus the cd player, plus you wree sitting in it playign wiht the power locks. they are origionally charged at the plant, and they then get charged as the motor runs. the alternator keeps thsoe bad boys charged, and you do use the engin a good portion of the itm while you are driving. they use the engine when you accelerate form a lgith or pcik up speed at any poitn whiel you are driving. but once oyu hit a stable crusing speed, sensors will shut the engine off and run the car right for the battery. all that time the alternator is still runnign chargign the battery,s o killginthsoe are kinda hard to do.

it hink the number oen worr abotu those batteries is it sparkgin and boom goes your car, or some kid workign the local mobil audio store nto knowing hwat he is doing and puts a power dirll right into the battery pack. you might as well concider the kid deadon contact if that happens.
