So in your opinion, could a girl ride a men's pow board? I was looking into pow boards at the end of the season, and I was looking into the Neversummer Titan (so cool-looking ...and uh, well made too :)), but the guy at the shop said I'd need something a little lighter and not so wide. However, on this other forum I'm on, someone said that's b.s.; it all depends on your weight, height, shoe size, etc. Regarding this, I can understand that a really big girl would probably need a board designed for men, whereas a small skinny guy might be better off going with a women's board (hehe...)
What do you girls think? Also, would it be different for freestyle boards, which are made to be lighter and easier to ride? 'Cuz I'm pretty sure I've been riding a men's freestyle board all along, and it seems to work ok for me.
And by the way, this is not a "what board should I buy" thread; I was just wondering your opinions on the men's/women's boards issue... :)
Lots of women ride mens' boards. At the pro level, I know for a fact that Natasza Zurek rides a Burton Custom (even though the site says she's only rocking the GTwin). I know a lot of girls who flat out refuse to ride a woman's board. As long as the specs match up with your specs, I don't think it's really that huge of an issue.

A woman can easily ride a men's pow board. It does go by weight and riding style. A beginner woman weighing 140 would have a hard time riding a guys pow board merely because she doesn't have the leg strength yet which comes with riding and it'll be a stiff board harder to learn on than a womans board.
I've been riding 10 years and have more weight than most girls, i can ride mens boards up to 160cm and be fine riding it.
They do make mens boards in smaller sizes so you can usually find a men's board that will suit you.

ditto, I've been riding a men's pow board for the last 8 years... but I'm not a little thing either.
I don't think there were any women's boards when I started... it's just a height weight thing... they do make women's board a bit narrower now, but if your in pow you want to width anyway.

I run into the height/weight issue and have tiny feet, so the men's boards are just way too big for me. I am running into this delemma in searching for pow boards and currently use my Burton Feelgood for pow days and all around...wish I had more options though.

Well anyhow, I went with the Option Dufficy 151 (with a Kendra topsheet). I was basing my board choices on the fact that I thought my old one was a 150 (it's actually a 44 or 45--wow)... I think a longer board would have been too much. :P but I do like the Dufficy a lot. I'm getting used to it and I think it's stiffer and more stable.. so it should do well in powder.
Thanks for your comments and opinions!

Definitely. Both of my boards are mens boards.
