Seeing how no one else put anything up here for this movie, I’d thought I’d be the first to.
At first I was decidedly against this movie (as I have no love for any activity which involves the constant turning of left) but what finally got me to get off my ass and pay 10.50 to see this was;
1. For a movie about what I perceived as "very redneck/southern" it got rave reviews from all critics north of the Mason-Dixon Line.
2. Though Larry the cable guy isn’t among my favorite comedians, he is in a group with two of my top five (Ron white, bill Engvall) which makes him popular by proxy. (Yes, so very totally high school.)
3. Pixar has the golden touch. They have yet to produce a sub par movie in my opinion.
4. The last movie that I remember being vehemently against because it was too "cultural" was Last samurai and THAT movie blows me away. (Top three movies for me. All time)
So, armed with this information, I went to see it with my fiancée, Lynne.
Let me say that I was utterly amazed. It is the sign of a good movie when you don’t even realize that the objects that are talking are, in fact, cars. It also shows a great ability for you to get into the movie. One pitfall of most animated movies is that you’re distracted from the movie by the voice-over (i.e.: shark’s tale). Cars does an amazing job in allowing you to believe that the cars on screen actually HAVE these voices.
So, in short, go see this movie. You will not be disappointed.
