Go see it. amazingly good time. couldn't keep from laughing. Only suggestion is dont go to the 11:45 pm showing cause its almost 2.5 hrs.
Captain Jack is back!
Yeah, going to the 12:01 a.m. show isn't bright either. But the movie was definitely entertaining!

I thought it was entertaining too, but the ending was a bit unresolved and made me grumpy!

Yeah, I went to a fairly late showing too.. was a bit suprised how late it finished.
The theatre I saw it at went all out for the opening night - all the staff were dressed as (and talking like) pirates, there was a fencing demonstration at the front before the movie started (and they talked about the various swords used in the movie), and the audience were obviously all super-fans - lots of cheering, especially at the steps at the end..
Oh, did anyone else wait for after the credits? Loved it. :D

Thank you. I saw like the first showing of X-Men 3 and didn't know to wait around for the credits. I had to go in to see the end of another showing when I was seeing some other movie like a week later. I would've left early for this one too.

auugh I <3ed it! Captian Jack Sparrow makes me
I can't wait till the next one now!
What line do you think will become the next, "But why is the rum gone?" line (eg, the line you'll be sick of hearing only after it's been said 10,000 times)

I'm planning on seeing it next week. I was just thinking of starting a thread about Johnny Depp today. ;) I think I've seen most of his movies and love some of the older more obscure ones. Besides the fact that he is simply luscious!

Oh goodness, the movie was AMAZING. I want to go see it at least one more time in the theaters, haha. And yes, I did see the end of the credits ;) With the dog, haha.
I really enjoyed the special effects in this movie. A lot. Like with Davey Jones and his crew. Gooooooodness. And the stunts were also amazing.

Realllly? Everyone's trying to tell me how it doesn't hold a candle to the first one and got my hopes down. So it's good.... GOOD!

ya - going at midnight when you have to get up at 8 the next morning, was the brightest of ideas - someome remind me of that next time.
i thought it was really good. and i sadly didn't stay for the credits (it was almost 3 in the morning), so i'll just have to go and see it again (oh, how sad).
"why is the rum gone" is def. going to be that next over quoted line, that we'll all be sick of in about a week.
good movie.

You know, it's really a hit or miss movie. Like personally, me and my Mom absolutely loved it, but we're not really that big of film critics.
However, all the papers and pro. critics seem to be rating it low. I don't understand how they could because it's so fascinatingly busy throughout the entire movie, but eh - Can't win them all.
Just keep in mind that the end of the movie has a HUGE cliff hanger ;) So don't be too disappointed.

Yeah, one of the other guys who I saw it with actually slept through nearly the entire movie. Of course, he was saying that he was tired before we even sat down - but still.

Well the critics all suck nads. XP
They gave so many good movies bad ratings, and I loved a lot of them. But I think they're full of poo because everyone I've talked to said the new Pirates movie was phantastic.
I'm going to see it tomorrow, when I actually have some freakin time. Lol.

Why is the rum always gone...oh that's why.
I saw it again last night with the family this time, It was a blast the second time around. Only problem was that I was the only one who yelled aaaaaargg and ayeee at the begining. People looked at me like a weirdo.
Must have been a first day only thing for the crowd to roar it.

I can't believe I sat through the credits for that crap. They could've had that part after the first part of the credits cause it wasn't worth waiting that much time. The first movie was better anyway.

I really enjoyed the first half of the movie. Was great in a very similar way to the first pirates. The second half of the movie was however a bit less entertaining, and the ending was just saying ...
"Wooo WOoo, incoming cash cow #3. I've got so much ****ing money, and I'm going to have even more ****ing money soon! Hahah, movie going suckers!"
I like sequels for the most part. Sure some of them are crappy, but there are some great movie franchises out there. The blatant setup for a 3rd movie rather then providing a solid ending to the second movie was just craptastic though.
I definitely thought Davey Jones was a Cthulu tribute, which was pretty cool imo. This site probably isn't really geeky enough to have a ton of people who get Cthulu referances though.

the second act in most any 3 part trilogy has the bad guys "win" and sets up the final act.

once again, thats what i thought. they only made that ending so they can rake in millions more. cuz everyones gonna go see it just to see how it ends... i just hope they dont try a #4...

yeah if they try a number 4 they probably wont make too much money cuz ppl will be sick of it by then

Doubtful... You think Harry Potter movie #5 is going to be any less of a hit then the previous four? Well Ok, I suppose Order of the Phoenix was one of the worst books thus far but none the less the movie when made will be huge.
Pirates will continue being a super cashcow as long as Mr. Depp continues to be absolutely fantastic in said movies which is precisely how you know there is no way CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow is dead. It's not so much the whole bad guys winning thing that really has me, but rather the manner in which the ending was carried out overall. Just thought it was a crappy way to wrap up the movie I suppose.

but that is harry potter and you know how many they are going to make and if you read the books you know what is going to happen and its the story of normal kids going through school (except for the magic part) and they always meet new things that come with growing up....but i dont really know about the third pirates...it might be good
