Anyone heard the new Slayer album Christ Illusion yet? What do you think?
Personally, I'm impressed yet not impressed at the same time. I heard the album and my first thought was "that sounds like Dave Lombardo on drums." I looked it up and sure enough he is back in the band, which I'm sure you all knew this as I was totally unaware. My second thought was "this sounds a lot like their very early stuff." My third thought was "this sounds way too much like their early stuff." My fourth thought was "am I listening to the wrong album cause I think this is one of their earlier albums?" Some bands rip off other bands, but Slayer totally ripped themselves off this time. I really think they are covering their own songs on some tracks. It's kind of weird. Although Jihad is a kickass song. It's still worth getting though. And no Slayer album could be as bad as Undisputed Attitude.
