It seems my snowboard is always getting chipped and scratched on the edges from a ton of ppl hitting and running over my board on the lift line, any idea how to fix or avoid this?

My board got scratched from a rock that was hidden in this East Coast ice. I find that people in the singles line are a bit more respectful than teh general mob trying to get on the lift. I suppose they can be because there is less pushing/jocking for position in the singles line.

Beginners on rental boards/skis are the worst...they didn't pay for their board/skis...they don't care what they do to yours.

Depending on how bad it is... If your board has a sidewall, chances are, you can drip some p-tex on it to seal it and keep it from delam...
i wasnt even talking about anything that bad that needs repair. just cosmetic damages. i guess that would suck more if it needed to be repaired
Cover your scratches with a Snowboard Addicts.com sticker!!!!

The way I see it, scratches aren't that bad. They make it unattractive to thiefs...

Yeah if it's a de-lam just throw so Epoxy on in and clamp it down, hold over night and in the morning it will be just like new.
for future reference, does it matter what type of eboxy?
like wood glue, silicon, chem?

I'd say throw it around on concrete and hit your board against some trees and rocks. It adds character!! I dropped 650 on my board, and i treat it like garbage. I just like the way it looks when its all messed up.
ok, but wont that leave u with a piece of **** board. IDK, i love my board and would do anything to harm her on purpose.

skiers always do that to me, run their shti over mine in the line, chipping up my top sheet. so what i do is i grab hold of the ralings, pull myself up, you hear their **** slap the gound and then I drop myself onto their stuff, and when they give me that look like "wtf did you do that for?!?!" i just smile back at them and say "doesn't feel good, does it, bitch?" that or they tip over. normally i prefer they fall over before i have to say anything to them
and sometimes when i feel really hyper for some reason, i start lookign over my shoulders constantly, swerving around in the line, adjusting myself so they don't touch my board, and when the one person goes "why are you so spaztic?" i just reply "to keep you ******** from dinging up my ****!"

Yeah E., I was just going to say it adds character. A couple of scratches, but yeah, I don't want my board all screwed up by unrespectful people. If it is going to get messed up, it better be my fault so at least I can have a good story out of it or something.
Oh, I had one of my boards delaminated by some little bitch on skis that didn't know how to use a chair lift. Plus, I went home on my second run that day from a killer headache because I got hit in the back of the head with the chairlift. Oh, that just made my day.

no, but alot of you people just cry when you scratch your board, and try to impress people with sticker placement and stuff. that's not what snowboarding is about. just go ride and have fun, i ride every single day and i don't care what my board looks like leaning up against the wall at the bar. i just keep it real.

Why does it matter to you if people complain about boards being scratched? Being a student paying for tuition, I'm strapped for cash, so when I pay a lot for a snowboard, I don't want it being scratched to **** by some asshat who doesn't care about other peoples property. I'm not trying to impress anyone. I couldn't care less what other people think of my board. I paid good money for it, so I want to keep it in decent condition period. Put it this way, say you buy a brand new car, would you like it if someone smashed in your window or kicked in your bumper? Exactly

Guys if you really ride you are doing more damage daily than any moron in the lift lin can do to your stick. I have broken boards in the first week, got core shots in the first day... It is a tool not a pice of art and you should use it as such.
My co-worker got a sicky new pair of skis and when I threw them down on the floor to put my feet on them (135 under foot if you understand) he flipped out sayinf "dude those thingas aren't even mounted yet"... My responce? "Me dropping them from 3 fett onto carpet is nothing sompared to the impact they will see day one when you are hucking 30'ers with god knows what under the snowpack".
Some people are too uptight. Hell, I hold my front heel cup on my bindings and drag my board to the lift. Pavement, grass, snow, whatever. I got so gaped at trying a super 35' mandatory air off Green River Bench. I got so pissed at myself for pussing out I threw my board down the cliff and hiked down to hit. It pummeled rocks the whole way down.
It isn't a Ferrari people, it is a fuking snowboard. If you are that concerned about the looks of it, you are probably the same person that sits on top of the park in run hill so all the people on the lift can check you and your ill shlt out. But 10 laps later, you are still sitting there looking cool and not doing shlt.
I'm not an a55hole I just play one on this site.

^ummm but yeah ditto. The only difference i have is that i all the damage i do to my board is from me riding it. When a$$hats in the lift line continually jab their poles on my board (which one kid was doing just for fun right in front of his parents, and they didnt think anything wrong with that) or people that bash my edges from skiing into them or slamming their board into mine. That pisses me off like no other.

i would tell the guy that would run your board over and say HEY! if you wanna scratch my board then you could just buy it from me for your boards price!

well the kid that was tapping his pole on the top of my deck i just turned... stared at him for about 10 seconds to see if he realized his stupidity. When he didnt i slapped the pole out of his hand and told his parents that they better stop fuking because the world doesnt need anymore fuking retarded children.

I'm sorry, but i cannot afford to buy a new snowboard everytime i mess up a trick or cannot do something. Throwing a board off a cliff just because you couldn't do a trick? I think you need anger management. Everything you said is just assumptions. I don't give a **** what others think of my gear/board. Ok scratch the car example, say you got a new shirt. What would you do if someone walks over and rips it? I'm guessing you wouldn't care because its still wearable?
I don't care if there is damage to the board if its my fault, or just normal wear and tear. If i wipe out and cause damage to the board, thats my own fault, and i don't care. I just hate it when inconsiderate pricks scratch up your board because they don't watch where they're going, etc.

It does annoy the crap out of me when people bump into my board, but most of the time it's an accident and they apologize. It's no big deal. When people jab at my board is when it gets annoying, but hell, when you say something to them they immediately stop and get embarassed.
I used to care about the nicks and scrapes in my board, but now I know they are inevitable so they don't matter. Core shots suck though.

i'm with Satan on this one. it's a snowboard. you ride it for about 70 days and get a new one. it's meant to be thrashed like a skateboard. ride it like you stole it. bonk everything in site, do tail tap rewinds off of every lift pole. if you're worried about scratching your board, than maybe you weren't meant to snowboard. it's only a snowboard for christ's sake! not a RollsRoyce

^although if you throw a nice set of coilovers, RUCAs, TC Rods and maybe Swaybars all around on a Rolls, then you too should drive it and not baby the thing.

i geuss i see both sides
on one side, eyah i do get pissed if theres a nick in the board, but only the underside, unless someone runs my **** over and i get a nice edge gash in the top. the underside should be the only thing you are worried about. and if yo uare THAT worried about it, buy a plain board so it doesint matter.
but, it IS just a tool. it can be replaced. and i know that most boards come with a warrenty so that if it does get ****ed up to hard, then you get a new one (within two years :P)

once again i don't understand why ppl feel they have to get new equipment every year seriously??? if my board doesn't get all f*cked up in a year than i'm not buying a new one that next year... sorry i like my money and i don't have extra money to just throw away but then again i have bills to pay

im a very hard rider and my stuff usually get destroyed in a season. i drag my snowboard everywhere. friends always say "u just drag ur snowboard like that" or "ur ruining ur snowboard". i always respond "im dragging it on the tail/nose, we dont even use that edge. im even helping it by detuning it more"
last year i got a core shot that was about 6 inches long on the first day, this year my new board has a little delamination from someone hitting it or maybe it was by a rail. i was pissed for a couple seconds. im always like that, with the first thing that happens to a brand new board. then i just stop caring. its equipment. its meant to be ridden harshly.
i do understand the 'no money to replace the board next season' scenrario. so i just say make a budget. and include snowboard expenses as one of them.

you don't get it because you live in Cleveland. you don't ride 120+ days a year on your gear. there are quite a few of us here that live at the base of huge mountains and ride 6-7 days a week, every year. after the punishment i give my gear i need to replace everything every year. even my outerwear and goggles. it's just what you have to do if you ride like we do.
