hey i'm going to hawksnest this sunday 9-4:30. and was wondering if anyone wanted to go and board with me, its just me and my friend, so anyone wanna meet up? GA??

I am going to WV this next weekend. The dude that I normally go with has a show this weekend and the next, so I dont know if I'll be up anytime soon, but I'll see. I would love to get more riding in before I go to snowshoe

ahh damn your going to snowshoe, lucky. yeah i've been wanting to go for the past week, and finally sunday i can go. and then again next weekend some girls i know are renting a house up in boone, so i'm going to stay with them for a fun weekend of riding.

they still dont have all of their mountain open yet. Beech is has all their terrain open now...... so does sugar, but they charge out the ass.

Hawk only has 9 trails open.....

i hear that beech doesnt have good snow, and they have crappy rails, they just have some "fun runs" i like hawksnest because it has nice runs, its terrain park is open, and my friend who i am going with loves their terrain park. and all their runs are pretty much open, they just have some extentions closed off. and that site isnt always correct. and there is never anyone at hawksnest, so you get twice as much riding time in. sugar is way too crowded/expensive. app is my favorite all around, but it has too many people.

app is the suckiest all around in my opinion.

Beech's snow isnt bad. I wouldnt know about their rails cause they didnt have them setup when I went but I am sure they have done more now.
And Beech is never crowded either

Beech's pipe is now open.

The info I get from hawk and the other NC mountains for that matter caome from the emails I get ever day from Real Conditions, that tells me the conditions of all the mountains in NC

when i went app had better snow conditions then hawksnest and beech, they blow snow alot more, and thats why. i wish it had longer runs, but its good for going big, or trying new things, cus they have a beginner rail park, and another rail park, and alot of big-small jumps.

I say beech is good at blowing snow, stay by the guns and its deep powder.

Oh go on the trail on the back side of the mountain, somewhere on the left side of the run about halfway down, by a jump, my sidekick II is buried in the snow......

i was up at app wednesday and it was icey but it was still pretty sweet, if you just want to ride straight up, move to CO cause it just cruising down a hill if you go out anywhere around here. app has is the only place around here that care about havin a park, they got stuff for pretty much all skill levels and i never wait in line. plus beech is always icey bc is so bare the wind is horrible there. i heard hawks nest sucks really bad this year, havnt been there myself yet but i've heard that from c couple people

i've been to hawksnest twice, app once, and sugar twice, this year. i had alot of fun when i went to hawksnest, they had some nice jumps, and a battleship, and rainbow rail open. but that was when the park wasnt open, the park is open now along with most of the mt. i'm going up there on sunday and expect to have alot of fun.

well i went to hawksnest and had a good time. one of my friends went with me so i wasnt alone, they had a few kickers, a tabletop, a box, battleship, and a kink rail set up, and a log rail. they had all of their runs open and the snow was powder, bearly any ice. i'm goin again this friday and saturday.

it got packed around the middle of sunday, well not as crowded as sugar or app gets, but you actually had to wait a minute or two instead of being able to nearly ride right onto the lift which is what its normally like.

Their park still isnt fully open. There were 2 boxes, one flat and one up-flat, and like 3 jumps in a row, then there were the jumps that were not quite built so more just big humps and the pipe was a joke. It wasnt even close to being considered a pipe.

it was nice until I lost my 30gig video ipod which we found later the next day, well let me rephrase that..... we found a couple piaces cause it had been destroyed after being run over by a snow cat

how was the snow. icy. powdery? it was nice at hawksnest, no ice at all, it was powdery the whole way down. and it was such a nice day, so peaceful.

powdery. saturday and sunday were the first days in four weeks that they were not blowing snow.

beech had been blowing snow 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 4 weeks..... thats one hell of a water bill.

I do have to say it did get slightly icy towards at the very end of the day sunday, its for this reason that I couldnt hold an edge on their more steep black, so my toe edge slipped out and I went flipping end over end off the trail and took one of those "end ski boundary" signs to the face and proceeded to go off the trail into a ditch and just nearly missed getting knocked out by the snow blower on the side of the run........ f u c king ice

haha, i whiped out once and slammed on my head, luckily i wear a helmet, or i would of been knocked out. but yeah i'm goin back up to hawks this weekend with a group of ppl.
