View Full Version : Utah on spring break
Heading to Utah for spring break in 3 weeks, we'll have 4 days of riding to do. Was wondering the top 4 resorts to hit up and is one day at each place long enough experience most everything the resort has to offer. What we're looking for in a resort is a good mix of powder, park and everything in between. Price isn't really an issue.

Brighton (Has everything. Park, powder, trees and sick BC) You can also get a pass that is good for Brighton and Solitude, ride both in a day. (They are right next to one another)
Powder Mountain...name says it all. They don't groom hardly any of the mountain, no crowds, LOTS of terrain, over 5000 acres, plus many other cool perks like cat rides for 8 bucks to untouched peaks of fresh pow and much more.
Snowbird. Yes their winter started out slow, but now it is in full force! Over a 100 inch base, and numorous poundings over the past week. I don't ride the PC area as much because the cost (Outrageous!) and they don't get near as much snow as these other resorts. (They average around 300 to 350 in PC, were as the other resorts I mentioned get well over 500) Enjoy your trip!

out of all the places i went to when i went out west, park city was my least favorite, too many groomed trails and it felt too much like a resort rather than a mountain. still tops anything the poconos could possibly offer though.
solitude was great, it doesnt feel that much like a resort, and the food was good (they give you at least what you pay for)
snowbird was my favorite, but the canyons was pretty good too.
check out the first tracks program if its gonna be snowing while youre there, its cheap, most resorts have it and the guides show you some cool lines tucked away in the woods, plus nothing feels better than having so much fresh untouched powder.
Also guys forgot to ask....lemme know about some late night hot spots

utah got a lot of snow the end of february which made for 100"+ bases for the places mentioned in this thread. everything should be a lot better now.

Hot spots= Hogs Wallow (for great local bands, and the snowboard crowd)
If you are looking for a 'meat market' type club (also listed amongst the best clubs in the U.S. by Playboy) Port O' Call
best fun dive bars I would say X Wifes Place, Cheers to You, The Canyon Inn
(All are in SLC area)
Park City area I would say No Name Saloon & Harrio's
