I agree, up here it was still snowing in late March early April. We can only hope for a season as good as last!

We even had a decent season in the east. Some mountains here were open till mid-April. Kind of rare.

Yeah for us, it wasn't how long the season went. But when it started we saw snow in October which is very rare we normally don't see it till November.

Boarding a week before halloween was the ****. California is alyways about the extremes. Last year during the same time the mountains were on fire, but then we got that early season snowfall that put out the fires. Last season started early too, like November 1st.

If next year is half as good as last year i'll be stoked.

If you live in nor cal the southern california weather really has nothing to do with how it is up here. When so cal has horrible droughts northern can have average years. But that would be cool if so cal had another good year. Ya Holloween boarding is soo sweet yet wierd to think about.

Yeah only above 10,000 feet, places just close due to no more business. Thats why tahoe resorts are never open after memorial day weekend. Mammoth probably still has a small base, plus there still might be some after hours going on there.

My home Mt close's every year on April 16 even if it has tons of snow. It has to do with the lease they have with the forest service.

Coverage in Tahoe is getting thin... where/when is the next storm?

snochick i really dont think you wanna know.. considering the fact that we got 6 inches of RAIN!!! in some parts in our last storm, it snowed 8 inches at lake level then rained 6 inches and then snowed about an inch or two again (nov 30-dec 2). The snow here sux ass soo far this year. One of the worst ever. But it looks like a couple snow showers this weekend and then there is supposed to be a large scale low pressure system to knock out the high pressure right now and then there should be two low pressure systems squeezing cold air in causing it to be cold and possibly snowy for a while. All of this is supposed to happen right around christmas time, i wont be at home then and i will be at mt bachelor oregon then so im praying for snow there as well. Anyways that was Bentley's (me) Northwest/nor cal weather report.

Hopefully that answers ur question snochick.

Oh and im wondering where u saw it snow around dec 7. We havent gotten any accumulations for snow since the 2nd.

I was at Sierra-at-Tahoe. They got about 2 inches of snow on the 7th and 8th... I heard it rained on the north shore. Sierra was sitting on a 5ft base as of last weekend but shrinking fast.
