do you want to do screen printing or just a heat transfer?

that was the dilemma we found a local place that would screen print 200 shirts fro 10 bucks each. then 5 for the screen.
do you know of any legit heat transfer packages, that wont make the shirts come out like complete ass?

10 each for 200 shirts? How many colors prints. Seems a bit steep. Will they save the screen and not charge you a screen cost next time. Will they reduce the price if you continue to use them? What kind of shirts do they use?
For a single color design front or back only, you can usually get them done online for about $3-$6 each with a good quality shirt depending on art. That's for a small run of 200 or so shirts. I would look around before you go local.

you could do it yourself, but then theres the worry about buying your own screen, and getting one with good dpi and then findings what ink you want.
Yes, but heat transfers are just kind of a ghetto way to make shirts. Most come off after a few months.

this guy does the shirts and sweats for all the school teams. and yes he does (or we do?) hold onto the screen for later use. it would be 2 colors black adn gray on a white shirt. for now. my friend has all the designs saved on his comp.

seriously you can find cheaper online. There are so many places that you can find online. I dont know of any off hand, but I know a bunch of friends who do it to get band t-shirts made all the time, and they just found whoever is cheapest

setup a free checking acount at wachovia or BB&T, or just anywhere with free checking, then get the bank/atm card they give you and use that. You can also make a PayPal account with it, and then all internet buying hassles are avoided.
One problem though.......... you have to put money in the account!!!!!

We do it ourselves, course we have the heat press for the transfers, and then the embroidery machine. Actually making my softball teams shirts here in the next couple weeks.

heat presses are nice, but the same effect can be done with an iron, its jusst not as effecient.
Our school does not only screen printing but a lot of heat transfer stuf too. We have one for t-shirts, one for hats, and one for coffee mugs

yeah, if you leave it on there too long, otherwise its fine, just dont burn it, or put the transfer on the wrong way because it WILL stick to the machine which will **** it up

Yea $10 each for 200 is pretty expensive. I made some shirts a while back that was a 5 color print screen and 50 shirts was $500 including custom logo, screen charges, and shipping.
Spraypaint + stencils always works too.

i was shopping online and looking at all the different places that i can send my deigns to to be silk screened.
then the question of the shirts came up. do i have to send the shirts (or if i decide to stay local give the guy shirts)?? or do the silk screeners supply the shirts in the pricing.
the spray paint and stencils idea would be cool. as we could make every shirt different. but, they don't sell spraypaint to minors. (at least last time i tried they didn't sell me it but i was buying 150 bucks in different color paints)
the iron ons isnt even worth it. once you have to say "lets buy 6 sheets so if we mess up once we can still make 5" you know that it's not worth it.

My high school Japanese club (of which I, being the Japanese teacher, was the sponsor), we made our own heat transfers, with the packets of printer transfers - made up the designs on the computer, arranged them so that all the pieces of the shirts (we had front, back and sleeve logos) fit on one transfer - then had a party where everyone brought irons, and we cut apart the sections of the images, and transferred them on. We ended up with the best looking shirts of all the clubs in the school, and kids wore them for about 3 years - with no peeling, fading, or yellowing! I was really impressed! Every kid brought their own white shirt (so we didn't have to worry about purchasing the shirts), and the Japanese club footed the bill for about $1.15 a shirt for printer ink and transfer paper.

most places will let you buy shirts from them, but many times it turns out to be more expensive. A lot of times its easy to find local places that sell bulk shirts where you can get them for like $2 each if you buy 15 or more (this is how it is at this shop where I live)
