UM the Van mountains aren't that great. If you want a car to get around fly to Seattle then make the drive up, plus you'll get to hit up Baker.

If you're going to ride really BC resorts other than Whistler/Blackcomb head a little further into the country.

some bomb mountains on the interior that i have been to include Fernie and Golden (Kicking Horse resort)...when we were in Fernie it rained for 1/2 the day when we arrived and called for about 1cm the next day and got about a foot...the party scene isnt that rad unless you know people who live there cause most of the happening places are house parties or relatively unobvious bars...one of the amazing features besides the crazy amount of snow they tend to get i sthe gnarly terrain that you can find INBOUNDS...no need to hike or trudge through the snow to access it...I went to Golden for only a day but it still rocked...there wasnt as much snow when i went there but the terrain is rockin and there are always the Golden Girls to check out...strippers strippers ra ra ra!!! Golden is relatively close to Banff as well where theres 3 mountains (Lake Louise, Norquay which sucks and Sunshine Village)...about 2 hrs from Banff....Fernie is 3 or 4...and theres a small mountain that get WILD amounts of snow...900+ per season...it opens in dec and closes in feb or march i think...its called Castle Mountain...all the bowls and stuff are supposed to contain wild amounts of powder stashes...if you need more info give me a shout :)
